Etihad Atmosphere - 2022/23

I sort of remember it and I wasn’t there. Was it a tea time kick off? So did they have the normal away end plus the top tier like Poznan did? Because that it about 9k tickets and the reason Poznan got them all was because all the local poles turned out.

Just found this video of the game highlights, it doesn't look like they had anyone in the normal away end but the video is really low quality for me.

And I'm not sure what time kick off it was, but now you've said tea time I feel like it might have been tea time aswell.

If there’s no slip ups it could be more like United almost exactly 11 years earlier when a win put us on course for the title (but nearly didn’t!). The difference this time will be that Arsenal will have played two matches more and could be 9 points ahead before kick off rather than 3!
I don’t remember a better atmosphere before and during that match, and it also broke some records for worldwide coverage. This could be a repeat of that.

Would love a time capsule for that one but I can remember very little about it.

My overriding memory is just feeling tense throughout, so I have probably mirrored my feelings and thought the atmosphere was like that also. I think I remember there was a great rendition of hey jude and manic celebrations at the final whistle.

But yes like United and Liverpool must win games chasing down another side. Mad to think it was 11 years ago now.

Talking of atmopshere, Pablo Zabaleta song seems to be being sung alot with the Munchen word added in pubs before the game

disappointing news for tonight.

we had two massive displays planned in the east stand and lower south stand, but due to weather forecast with 40mph winds plus we have had to pull the display.

Security / stadium management rang to apologise about pulling the display due to safety of fans which we fully understand.. When the wind blows in the etihad for some reason it picks up even more and can take away even a 3m telescopic flag. We cant risk the wind picking up a 40m plus banner . I believe one or two other events like city square are also effected.

Thank you to everybody that helped us make the two displays happen, planning to use the same display Vs arsenal and champions league semi final :-)

Pretty sure it was the usual kick-off time and it was one of those matches where "operation one end" was experimented with to see if it helped improved the atmosphere (it didn't). It was only the usual circa 3,000 away allocation but just moved out of the south stand
