Etihad atmosphere

I was at Anfield and there is a difference.

The whole of Anfield get's behind the team, and not just one or two small sections that do at the Etihad.
Saying that, Liverpool have 26,000 fans in a single tier behind one goal, which in itself is enough to get the rest of the ground going.
We have a singinng section in one block, and even in there, there are roughly 20-30 fans continually trying to create an atmosphere.
In comparison we don't stand a chance.
What I will say in our defence is that when there is a good atmosphere at the Etihad, ie Arsenal at home, the Etihad and our fans are a match for any club and their fans.
Unfortunately Arsenal-esc atmosphere's are few and far between at City ATM.

I distinctly remember a game where Sunderland were 1-3 up st Fulham and it appeared that, even when the board went up for 90 minutes, the whole stadium remained in the ground 'til the end.

We were 2-1 up in a huge game against Arsenal a few weeks back and I reckon there 20000 had left in the ground by the time the board went up.

There were nowhere near that many early leavers against Arsenal - Pep himself made a point of thanking the fans for staying for a change - and I can only think you're getting mixed up with the Watford game a few days earlier.

The atmosphere is absolutely garbage and has been a huge issue for a few years.

What would help is if the top brass at the club actually listened to fan feedback, as this club has completely lost its soul.

It's gone from being a Manchester club to a tourist area. Normal working class people are being priced out so that people with a bit more money who are likely to spend a few quid at the club shop go.

The South Stand signing section has failed, because the noise isn't replicated in the North Stand, which was a terrible idea to have in that area.

Really?

Is that a valid excuse anymore? We have some of the cheapest season tickets in the League.

Why don't we get a drum or a Band. Pep would have been use to that in Barca and Munich.

I also got the impression Pep thinks what have I got myself into, I am the best coach in the world and these lot do not deserve me.

Not enough and not in the best areas .... more larger areas in the lower tier .... there are blocks and blocks of standers so demand is there
In all fairness I think there will be all standing areas in the Premier League within 5 years, the momentum is growing.

I know quite a few season ticket holders at anfield and they are continually moaning about the atmosphere when its not a so called big game. They normlly say there is hardly any atmosphere compared to old days when they had the kop. They sound just like us to be honest when it comes to atmosphere and for me its a common theme at every ground in the prem.
