Etihad atmosphere

I don't enjoy going to city anymore, too many spoilt, miserable, moaning bastards ruining the atmosphere.

I agree and it was at Maine Road as well. The atmosphere at Anfield the other night was awful. It isn't just City. It seems to be just an issue on this forum, which i think is creating a stigma. Should just be left alone.
It's an issue with the manager and the players too. The manager and three players were trying to lift us today and the players did not applaud the stands at the end of the game. Don't think thy were happy with us one bit today. When they needed a lift with ten men, it was a far far cry from that game when we beat Wigan and Dunne was sent off and Zaba scored the winner with ten men and we were hanging on. The atmosphere that day in pretty much identical circumstances was like chalk and cheese to today and the players visibly let us know today.

I think the leaving before the final whistle is the most damaging thing. Put yourself in the position of a player and you have worked your bollocks off for 90 minutes. You look around and the ground is half empty.

As i said earlier in the thread, people were leaving early today. When the game was on an absolute knife edge. I do wonder what the point of them coming to the game in the first place was.

Here's a picture I took at Anfield towards the end of the match.

Yes their corporate fans had started leaving, either for more hospitality, or making their way home. But the rest of The Liverpool fans stayed until the final whistle. You can just make out the corner of the KOP.

TBH, today was a lot better than it has been. I think Pep's message about fans staying until the end of the match and supporting the team is getting across.

Saying that, there were fans in East stand lower who were leaving with 10 minutes to go. They weren't going to the toilet.

I distinctly remember a game where Sunderland were 1-3 up st Fulham and it appeared that, even when the board went up for 90 minutes, the whole stadium remained in the ground 'til the end.

We were 2-1 up in a huge game against Arsenal a few weeks back and I reckon there 20000 had left in the ground by the time the board went up.

20000 eh or 20000 empty seats?

mmmmmmm..............

Today wasn't great but I've heard it much worse.

I thought in the second half things did improve a bit.

I wish the early leavers would realise how much damage they are doing to the club's reputation and the impact it has on morale.

That's two games in a row that the ground has emptied out when it's been close with a few minutes to go.

No wonder the referees see us an easy target when some of our own fans don't give a shit.

If you can't be bothered staying til the end then give your ticket to someone else that will.

How depressing is that. If Txiki fails to deliver what he needs in the summer, the guy might just jack it in.
He doesn't look like he enjoys our support. Must be a huge shock for him after Bayern. Bayern's chanting and songs are monotonous and pretty shit but they are constant and loud.
