Etihad atmosphere

tbh I been reading some other forums and their fans are moaning about the same thing. I dont think this is particular to City, unless we keep highlighting it. And tbh why are we? The press have laid off this now havent they? Is it just us moaning now?

You dont watch city much do you.

Hahaha the Hamburg game is slowly becoming like who was at York away. A Bluemoon legend/Myth.... A story that gets more twisted each year.

The atmosphere at that game seems to be going down as legendary. It was a good night where the players really tried. Fans got behind the boys and the atmosphere was good. That’s its though. Just a good night. Nothing spectacular that people seem to want to believe.

However, more and more people mention it and its getting its own reputation as a special atmosphere night. It was a £5er in that night and loads of kids were there. It wasn’t as good as people seem to want it to have been.

Derby days are the only days that get everyone going. Face facts. Football and its fans have changed. We will never have crowds getting excited and loud unless it’s a massive do or die game or a derby. Sad but true.

Most clubs have this problem. Not just us.

I watch every single game.

When I go the atmosphere is good, am sometimes surprised to hear negative comments on here when I get back. It's like everyone has decided our fans are shite. Liverpool, arsenal, manu all have the same issues, nothing particular to City.
Why do we moan so much about ourselves ffs,

If the club get together with the a fan group (we could organise it on here) and help move all those who want an atmosphere to the south stand bottom tier. Next to the away fans. The atmosphere will sort itself out. Only needs a few hundred people willing to sing constantly. For it to filter through to the next few and the next few and before you know it - The bell ends standing to attention!

Where have you been? 1894 group worked with the club to move 'singers' to 114/115. We did this through social media, the official supporters club, we handed out leaflets at away games.

We got a list of over 600 people to move, (which would have just about filled one block), then, because the club announced cheaper tickets in SSL3 a lot of people moved up there instead. There are still hundreds of people from that list who're in 115. The biggest issue is MOST of those people are in 115 to be near the atmosphere, not 'part' of the atmosphere. There are people who care more about goading the away fans rather than supporting our team, people who kick off at us for waving flags before the game (despite being told we'd be waving them throughout the game).

The atmosphere will improve, but it needs a change in attitude from EVERYONE. We need to stop thinking we're too cool to sing. We're not going to be entertained, we're going to SUPPORT city. We haven't 'done our duty in the past' so we can sit back and not bother now. If you're in that stadium on Match Day, whether you're sat in 115 or 326 you need to get behind the team and cheer them on - otherwise, what's the point?

If you want to improve something, you need to be aware of it's downfalls. Would you say the atmosphere at Liverpool, Arsenal and Rags is good? I'd assume not, so why would you be happy to sit back and let ours be as bad?

What downfalls? Are we the worst supprted team in the prem? In the top 6 teams? I really dont think so, in fact I am quite proud of our supporters and am sick of hearing them get a bad time. What downfalls?

Come on. This thread wouldn't exist if our supporters were amazing. People leaving early, booing Bravo (as well as other players over the years), the stadium is like a morgue at times. All this in our clubs glory years, we'd have killed to be in this position 10 years ago and now we have everything we could have ever dreamed of people can't be bothered staying to watch a full 90 minutes!

You can say we aren't the worst in the premiership (because we aren't), but the premiership is well known for having pretty crap supporters world-wide. So we're basically a medium sized fish in a small pond IMO.

I suppose it's not about comparing City to others. Let 'em do want they want.
It's about giving support to City players and the club and at the same time enjoy the great event of singing along with thousands of other Blues.
It's good for your body and soul and gives you a good feeling to be part of a big event.
And that's FOR FREE, as you have paid just for your seat, not for match quality or atmosphere issues.

But nobody has to share, it's a free country.
There always will be different types of supporters, simple. So it would be good to offer different structures to those groups.
And that's why you should offer singing sections within the ground, safe standing areas, family block, posh seats with a seat heating and so on.

And when the loud supporters are organized, it will spread over the ground more or less.
Very entertaining and lifting the solidarity among the crowd is alternate singing/shouting between blocks or even terraces.

I think you should try that, maybe with a commonly known COME ON CITY.

If you don't know what I mean, watch this from Dresden (German 3rd league back then). Just an example.
Fans are starting to alternate and at 1:30 you can see the main stand joining in (btw they are sitting!!)

completley disagree with that. the hamburg game is one of the loudest the etihad has ever been imo. it was fantastic and the whole ground was rocking. there was loads of kids, but there was large groups of lads in the ground and walking up to the ground, something which we rarely see now. our players, manager and opposition fans even said how good it was. we sold something like 17,000 tickets in a few hours i was told. if we got half of that ever week it would be great.
