Feck me! Are they really going ahead with this expansion? They can't even use up the capacity as it stands now, bunch of idiots! They really do want to create this illusion that they are now a massive club when it's really fooling nobody!
There comes a time when the certainties we've built in our minds about a certain subject come crashing down. It might be a relationship that you were always convinced would last forever which somehow grinds to a halt, or possibly a business you've owned for years that is swiftly taken away from you in the blink of an eye.

When it comes, that moment of realisation, is shocking, humbling and even a little humiliating. It makes you appreciate that things in life can take an unexpected twist for reasons beyond your control. That the certainties of the past don't always apply in the future.

He hasn't arrived at that moment yet.

But he will.

Got to love those paradigm shifts!

Arrrgh!

Can't find my USB camera cable.

Will have to buy one tomorrow.

As soon as I do I will post the pictures form yesterday, even though pictures have already been posted of the crane.

Just a bit more info

Speaking to one of the guys that came over from Italy. This is what he told me in broken English.

The crane is actually brand new and has come straight from he factory. It's the first time it has been used. It's the only one, and the largest of it's type in Europe. The concrete base has to be put in place(he said poured), and allowed to harden, which will take up to a week. The crane won't be used until then. They will then test the crane before using it properly. The crane arm alone weighs 45 tonnes. That's what he told me. Don't know if it's all true though.

Oh. And he supports Juventus.

Going for a bike ride in a bit and might head up to the ground. I'll have my phone so may take a phew snaps if any one wants me to. They'll be nothing like the quality of jrb's so don't be expecting miracles but happy to take a few nonetheless.
don't forget to look in front as well ;-}

Brilliant! Could easily have been me a couple of times today - not the safest cyclist given age and last time I actually went on a bike :))

Back now after my little jaunt and it's all coming along nicely from what I actually (like I know anything about architecture or actually building stuff!).

Only right to wait for jrb to post his pictures - don't want to duplicate anything and his skills are far, far superior to mine given I was using a mobile phone to snap my pics.

Had a look at the crane earlier this morning.
Dropped family off at the airport and went back towards east Mancs route to have a nosey...

The appropriate word is: MASSIVE

Not a rag word anymore, that crane is a monster!!

As Thorpey suggested, might have a climb up it and put a city flag on the top :D

Re: Etihad Campus, Stadium Development and Collar Site (cont

If the crane is that big, I wouldn't be climbing up it I would give the lads who operate it a flag and ask them to tie it on. It would be worth buying them a pint for and if there happens to be a spare flag knocking about if they are Juventus fans with fuck of MANU Vidal not for sale that would be nice too.

First time it has been used?

Would be typical city if it tipped over onto the stadium haha

Now that would be quality lads :))
