An early fore runner of the Panda Log Flume which WILL be built on the collar site:

Be great to see a similar (but clearly updated) 'destination' built in the area, albeit without the animals (apart from the Pandas).
Transport might be an issue...not sure if the trams could cope with piping so many people into the collar site unless there was significant parking (North Car parks to remain)?
Not sure how feasible it is to get a train station/line nearby (I'm sure someone on here mentioned that in the past).

There is a line that goes under Ashton New Road next to Mercedes

The line goes over Alan Turing Way near the gasometer, there could be space for a station on the waste land between Vermillion and the railway bridge

This line spreads out around Tameside to Manchester Victoria and towards Stockport

Fucking brilliant mate.Been racking me bastard brains out for the last hour or so trying to remember the name. The Bobs.I`ve spent a fair few bob on that thing in the late 60`s early 70`s.

How bizarre - I don't think I could ever forget the name "The Bobs". I only went on it once but nevertheless it was part of my childhood and it's ingrained on my brain. On a slightly unrelated note, did anyone see T-Rex at Belle Vue in 1972? That was the first concert I ever went to. I couldn't believe how loud it was - I was 11 at the time.

I love all this historical stuff. Mancunian Memory Lane.

Also makes me feel relatively young, which ain't easy these days.

Gosh was it still open then? I thought the whole thing closed in the mid or even early 70's. Seems a bloody lifetime ago.

Saw the Clash there, must of been 77. They smashed the doors in and we ran in for free.

The Clash was '77 they played The Elizabethan Suite, Def Leppard was 78/79 at The Cumberland Suite where about 200 tried to cram into a space in front of the stage the size of a postage stamp. Enough space behind us to have a game of five-a-side. But it was still open in 85 as saw ACR and the Inca Babies their

If I remember rightly the stage for Def Leppard was only about a foot high, remember being pushed and ending up face down on the stage at one point.
