Re: Etihad Campus, Stadium and Collar Site Development Threa

In this era of retro being cool I think we'll have misseds a trick if we don't go old skool with the power station as well. A big coal burning power plant, with slag heaps, smog and dangerous working conditions is the way to go.

Our wannabe football hooligans could mascarade as 1980's striking miners and fight with the Police.

presumably a solar generated power station

In Manchester? That's like trying to run a moped on monkey spunk.
heathen Tyke casting aspersions on our sunny city

I have left sunny Doncaster to come to Manchester to watch us and its been bloody cold and wet

But, and this should never be forgotten, it's not been Doncaster.

Its a myth that you need sunshine to create solar power (clearly its useful), but all you really need is daylight, and Manchester in summer, even on a dull day gets 12+ hours of that for 4 months.

I think you'll find daylight is sunshine

Not if there are clouds in the way!

Correct, but so is FanchesterCity in terms of the definition of sunshine.

In terms of solar panels, you need photons to knock electrons free from atoms. The more photons there are hitting a panel, the more productive it is. E.g. Solar PV (Photovoltaic) calculators can work indoors because put simply: photons are everywhere (and the calculator uses the battery when there isn't enough photons being received). So in terms of solar panels, you use that energy when available and switch to fossel fuels when required.

Great photos again jrb, I like the first one as you walk across the bridge towards the Etihad Stadium shows you how massive the development is, and also the eight photos taken inside the ground looking towards the South Stand in detail, a big well done jrb for all the effort in getting these photos out to us who are overseas........cheers mate.............

great pictures, coming on nicely.

I assume that the seating in South Stand tier 3 will be as per the concrete area which is now in place?

tiers 1 and 2 are complete, i.e. the Stand seating joins straight into the East Stand and Colin Bell stand, what are they doing with 'the gaps' for tier 3? big screens?
