Coming along at an amazing speed.

Concrete spirals still letting the side down. I really hope they do something with them other than put blue tape around them.

The fact that the ends will be higher than the sides would make our stadium pretty unusual in design.

I cant think of any where there is the case but I'm open to being corrected.
i think there is a slight misunder standing r,e this, the new roof will be the same hight as the cb,at its highest ,plus the pitch ,i,e angle will be the same

Re: Etihad Campus, Stadium and Collar Site Development Threa

Appreciate it's a flythrough, but you can already see some changes can't you. Will be interesting to see how the rest of the cladding/exterior turns out compared to the flythrough.(images) According to the flythrough there should be 3 tiers of glass windows next to the grey cladding/exterior that is already in place.(below the pitch air vents)

You can also see where the side pitch air vents are going to go above 3 tiers of glass windows.

It strikes me that the expansion makes the right of the stadium look a bit like a roller coaster. Perhaps we should have stuck one on the top, as a sort of added tourist attraction.

Yes - THE BOBS..............(from Belle Vue - previously discussed.)

It looks to me that it is going to be a pain to connect the new roof to the old as the angles of both of them seem to be going at different angles
This has always been the one aspect of the expansion that bothers me. The roofline in the corners is gonna look shit for a few years until the CB and East Stands are re-modelled to allow a continuuous sweeping roof as we have today (in the North stand at least). I'm also not sure about all the cable stays (especially the ones sticking out of the windows! That said, I can't wait to sit in the third tier of the south stand next season.

You can just about see daylight through the exec boxes, through to the other side...

Just posted by Jock Blue on SSC.

In March last year, we began work on the expansion of the Etihad Stadium which will see 6,000 new seats added to the South Stand.

The on-going construction work means there are a few upcoming changes to be aware of, so we ask that all supporters read the information below.

Colin Bell and East Stand on Level 2
As we look to enhance the stadium, the food and drink concessions adjacent to Colin Bell Stand blocks 222-225 and East Stand Blocks 206-208 will no longer be available from Wednesday 4 March. A 'pop-up' refreshment area adjacent to Entrance J for the East Stand and Entrance R for the Colin Bell Stand, will be made available for the remainder of the season. Additional stewards will be on-hand to provide extra assistance for ambulant and disabled supporters during this period.

This area will open 90-minutes before kick-off and will re-open for the duration of half-time. All other facilities will be operating as normal. There is no change to the entrance you use to enter the stadium and once inside, you will be able to access the refreshment area. Stewards will be on hand to assist.

Please note: the refreshment area is uncovered. Smoking is not allowed as this remains part of the Etihad Campus.

Thank for your understanding and continued support whilst these works are undertaken.

Kind regards,
