I'm hearing that the ridiculous reports of ADUG investing £1bn into East Manchester that originally started this thread way back when might actually be accurate.

There are some rather giddy people at MCC at the minute, but their lips are rather tighter than back in the early days when some of my old pals from Manchester got gobby after a pie and a pint.

There are some people on here far, far closer to the people with info than I am now, so I would hope they can confirm that the scale of the plans is now beyond the original footprint and that plans are now being revised to suit?

No chance, were just an Arabs toy.

Does that mean that the plans for the log flume and cheetah racing are back on the drawing board ?

My fingers are definitely crossed ;-)

Going off at a tangent for a minute, I see that the new housing development on Hyde Road near Pottery Lane is called Connell Gardens.

If the grey bit's are covered with the photograhic wrap like the East Stand, you'll hardly know it was new.

Re: Etihad Campus, Stadium and Collar Site Development Threa

The corner section of the south west roof is waiting to be lifted into place. It's one whole complete section which will just slot into place, and will be held up by supports inside the stand rather than the cable supports. The supports inside the stand will then be covered up by the new big screens. A lot of the supporting structure is also built into the underside of the roof piece.
