Noticed in this pic from <a class="postlink" href="http://etihadstadiumgram.tumblr.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://etihadstadiumgram.tumblr.com/</a> a frame is appearing over the right-hand side of roof... is that the wall of the new stand or the new roof starting to take shape?

its the frame that will be used to hold the roof into place whilst they are building it :)

really impressive sight as you approach from the south.
when finished it will become an iconic piece of architecture particularly as so close to a major road.
the end reminds me of the bernabau, imposing and bloody high. Brilliant.

Nothing. They're leaving those holes as they are to allow the breeze into the stadium, to aid the drying of the pitch.

Nothing. They're leaving those holes as they are to allow the breeze into the stadium, to aid the drying of the pitch.

Also sunlight as this is south facing; it will not be the same at the North stand development. :)

If the corners were filled in so as to join up with the CB Stand and East Stand, how many more seats would that add? I don't know why that wasn't considered. It would look miles better IMHO.

It is.

If you look closely it covers a block and a half of each tier rather than three blocks like it does now. ;)

it could be for some later expansion... tying in with expanding East and CB Stand, from my guess, (I think there could've been something said on here earlier) that it'd take it to 80+k if all gaps were filled in and the East and CB stand were made the same height as the North and South

Roof not coming off until about 6 weeks before start of next season - is one of last things.

The Rugby Union World Cup game is due Oct. 2015. Probably have to be removed by then.
