it would cost fuck all - the council would let it be extended. technically the works started within 3 years - at one end. Phase 1 has been completed, it was submitted as one planning application so the club may not even have to resubmit another. Anyway it is happening.

I didn't know that, I'd been told by somebody that what I said was correct so I stand corrected.

Just checked your post history and you're definitely a rag.

Noticed it in the tickets thread for BM & Celtic yesterday tbh.

You still recovering from being to made to look like mugs on Saturday?

Don't be silly.

Does anybody know what the attendance for tonight's game is expected to be. Have just been to have a look at sales on the website but not letting you view tonight's fixture, is it sold out ?

Still on sale on the website, my guess would be 45000 ish, which is 4000 more than last year and lets not forget would have been almost a sell out 2 rears ago.

Cheers, not a bad effort, next two against Celtic and Barca will defo sell out.

Don't get what? I think it's too soon to extend further personally. That's my own opinion.

I also believe that it could cost millions of pounds should we not begin to extend by the end of this season as the planning permission runs out, so I do understand why the club would do it.

If we have just 1 sell out after it extended its worth it so really you talking bollocks.

This, this & exactly this.....well said WW

I think that's correct, the original arrangement was based on attendance over Maine Road's so with the plans to expand (and naming rights) we renegotiated the flat fee.

And we will never buy it as it would not benefit the Council so they won't agree to sell, the upside is that we can do what we want with it anyway. Any Blue who is bothered by 'council house' jibes is far too sensitive, if that's the best they can come up with then we've won.

I thought the original agreement was council got half the money from sales of anything over 32 or 34k, then we renegotiated to a flat fee of 2 million. I wasn't aware of any further aware of any further negotiations but stand to be corrected

there was one renegotiation - and it was a flat annual rent of about the 3 to 4 mill mark as mentioned which removeed MCC's claim on 50% of ticket take on attendance above 36000 (I don't think Maine Road ever actually got back to that at the end....)

When the club decided to give an entire stand to families they were knocked by many. The truth is they were thinking of the future. If only a third of those little Blues and their own kids are going in 25 years time it has paid off. No doubt many more than a third will be going and they will need somewhere to sit.
With the expansion, the club are thinking ahead in a similiar fashion. I don't care what the Rags or the media say now or next year and i could not give two fucks if it is 'empty'. The club are thinking ahead, the Rags and the media can't even think.

"South Stand vornitory question"

Directly under the "Etihad Stadium" sign in the photo below, there is a vomitory surrounded by seats and obviously not being used anymore. The gang ways have been moved a couple of metres each side. Are the club going to remove and fill this vomitory in? Also the gang ways either side lead directly to the top of this section were the exit points are, leading to a resturaunt/lounnge/bar. is this a special members section? and if so why at the south end not the north?

The exit will still be used for cup games where the away fans take up the full 2nd and 3rd tiers.

The South Stand has always had the Legends Lounge there. The opposite side has executive boxes.

Well that's obviously bollocks isn't it. The club isn't going to spend £100m on the stadium expansion if it sells out once, or even once a season. It has to be financially viable.

It's not a question of whether it's financially viable, more whether there is demand. If it was down to finance alone, then none of the extensions would get built as you could get a much bigger return by investing the money elsewhere. If you work out how long it takes to recover the costs from 6,000 empty seats it would be decades.

The midweek European games are poor, but the measure we should be using are the league attendances. Once again, Bournemouth will be full at the weekend. And if the European games tell us anyhing it's that we need a bigger ground so that we can get more local support so that when the seasoncard holders don't turn up for midweek games, the locals can fill their empty seats.

We need buy on the day tickets as per Barca. kiosk in the town centre and no need to be a member. Also online buy and print/App scan option, membership should be free and use the customer info to market to them.

Did not want to open a new thread so forgive me for posting on here.
I was wondering - when we play Spurs away in early Oct. will we play at Wembley or WHL;
If WHL what will be their current capacity?
In the past they seem to average just below 36,000
Thanks
