I'm hoping they can get the stand completed in time for supper... I've already told people there'll be tiers before bedtime.
Correct, 2 tiers it is then.
While we debate the pros and cons of the extended north stand and it's final design it's might be of some interest to know that Liverpools extended main stand will have to incorporate about 500 restricted view seats. Apparently at both the kop and Anfield road ends the corner of the new stand has the roof of both those stands that obstructs the view of the pitch from about the far sides corner flags to the penalty boxes. Now that's good planning what ever version we get for the north stand at least we will all be able to see all the pitch!! For the dippers catorgary three games their only charging 9 quid for those seats now there's planning for you.
To be fair those seats won't be restricted forever. Anfield Road end is the next phase so I suspect the view will clear up.
There is something very ugly looking about anfield. Yes the new main stand is impressive in size, but it doesn't link in at all with the kop, which I assume is staying as is whatever other redevelopment takes place. Does anyone know if the new anfield road end is going to link in to the new main stand at the corners? Would seem like a very wasted opportunity if not
I saw the attendace as over 53k today for them.Just a foot note: Dippers attendance yesterday was only just over 51k nearly three thousand under new capacity. Seeing their lorded new stand had is grand opening piss poor effort: our lowest attendance in league games since the S S extention is 53600 only 18 hundred below capacity so we're not doing that bad seeing the dippers think there one of the worlds leading clubs. Bring on the N S extention and before somebody asked yes the full capacity of 54300 was available to them yesterday.
The BBC had it down as 51232.I saw the attendace as over 53k today for them.

Sounds like it's 3 tiers as it says we're using the original planning permission.

MANCHESTER City are set to press ahead with plans to extend the Etihad next summer – making it the second largest club stadium in Britain.
City chiefs want to add an extra 7,000 seats to each end of the ground pushing capacity up to more than 61,000.
The club spent around £60m last year adding a third tier to the South Stand, increasing the Etihad to just under a 55,000 all-seater.
And City have been delighted with attendances so far this season – with Premier League matches 98 per cent full.
A source said: “The club feel the time is right to extend the stadium even further to mark the Pep Guardiola era.
"Planning permission was sought to extend both ends of the stadium when the expansion scheme was first started.
"Talks are now on-going to find the best possible time for contractors to start moving in to begin the work."
Manchester City have 41,000 season ticket holders, with around 10,000 more on the waiting list.
The increase in capacity would make the Etihad the second biggest club stadium in the UK after bitter rivals United's Old Trafford.
City's owners also have plans to eventually extend the East and West, taking it past theRed Devil's76,000 capacity.
The Etihad has become a huge concert venue in recent years, with Take That poised to play a number of gigs there next summer.
City owner Sheikh Mansour has spent around £200m developing the Etihad Campus, which includes the City Football Academy.
A further increase in capacity will mean he has roughly spent £120m on installing 15,000 extra seats.
That is £10m more than it originally cost the council to build the stadium for the Commonwealth Games back in 2002.

51232 according to the official Premier League web siteLooks like it was about 51k, 53k may have come from dippers biased paper?
