For those saying that the North Stand should match the new South Stand, there would be too much wasted space if that were to happen. The South Stand includes the Legends Lounge, as well as the bar areas; 93:20 & Joe's.

Combined these areas take up a lot of room and there would never be the demand in a 60k seater stadium to have those facilities at the other end as well. This is just another reason why I believe they are considering a different design for the North Stamd end.

This - the South stand is economically viable because of the Aguero 93.20 / legends and the extra capacity etc. The pay back wont work on the same basis at the North end, hence calculations being done on arenas, single tiers and expanded remodelled City Square type facility and a huge terrace attracting long term support. Disco Steve is correct - the rake will be different so you will get a Cardiff / Chelsea style wall in my opinion. Not seen drawings yet but cant see how this cannot happen. Will update when I get anything concrete.

I met with a couple of people from the club on Monday and asked a couple of questions.

Firstly, it looks as though the club will try and keep the away fans in the top tier when they don't take full allocation (Although we advised them they should try and change this and work bottom-up rather than top-down, for atmospheric reasons).

Secondly, the planning permission related to the North stand is for a replica of the SouthStand, they have 2 years remaining on the planning permission and as far as these people were aware there are no plans to submit any other planning applications (Although this type of thing might have gone over their roles), so unless we see any new plans being submitted, we'll either get another 3 tiered stand or nothing in the next two years.

West Ham haven't taken the full allocation. and the 3rd tier have been put on sale to us.

Money mate its that simple plus the thought of a wasted trip given out home form these last few years ;-)

Ah good stuff - I wouldn't have been happy with away fans being moved up there personally, think this works better.

The tickets West Ham returned are on sale at £30 I presume that's what West Ham got them for as well which for London based fans is a bargain.

What if City were to build a school/s? or a some science park, or even a new hospital etc? There's so much more than just sport than can be built to bridge the gap between sport and the community. Manchester City, like most clubs, was once about a community (in the true geographical sense). Why not the same again, where Manchester is once again represented by Manchester City, and Salford can do what they like with their lot.
Imagine a state of the art hospital for kids (like Great Ormond Street) but in the Northwest - Manchester City Children's Hospital. Or a cancer research centre etc. Football ACTUALLY doing something positive. Talk about football actually making a different to people's lives? if our owners really want impact, something like that would beat any theme park / hotel hands down.

Our club COULD represent a lot more than sport. A pipe dream perhaps, but where we are now was a pipe dream a few years ago.
