Thanks for the replies (City's attendances), Yes the guy (workmate) does talk shite, but he's a expert, as he know's everything about football as he watches all the football on sky and bt !
I think it just show's the power of the media to spread bullshit .
 
It seems there is now more than enough money in play to do whatever is wanted.

The problem is making sure its something more than a shit load of office buildings and drive-thrus.

Do you trust ADUG to get it done properly?

Manchester is crying out for a designated interactive technology quarter/Silicon Valley?

I think it's more a question do ADUG trust the partners involved?

The plot certainly needs a couple of hotels but do think we missed a trick when Media City was built.

I'd buy it and burn it down.

Its always ben a case of finding the right partners and the right idea but Media City wasn't that IMHO. Media City is decent but it's all about business and we need something that draws visitors in.

I still see Apple/Pixar involved in some fashion.

Apple and Pixar might be 'tech' companies but they're absolutely nothing alike and nothing at all to do with each other, so not sure why you would suggest both or one of those.

Pixar is a Walt Disney company focused on story telling and film making, so extremely unlikely they would be involved specifically, unless you're suggesting 'Manc Disney Parks' will be put on that relatively small plot of land. The car parking situation for it would be brilliant that's for sure!

Apple just as unlikely as well I would say. There's been nothing in their locker to suggest it's the kind of thing they would get involved with.

There must be a clear synergy between the two sites?

Even Ferrari World was because of the Yas Marina race track, they don't fight either side of each other.

We announced an official robot partner the other week from China, so my hope is for some sort of tech world that is interactive, supplemented by the leisure outlets which would need to support it.

A bit of context here in relation to Apple/Pixar:

Job's family are the largest single shareholders in Disney and have multi-billion holdings in Apple and the companies have a close relationship for example simple things like having the Mickey / Minnie Mouse watch faces on the Apple watch.

I don't see Apple becoming a company involve in leisure but Disney would certainly be a possibility although their existing park in Paris is probably too close. The trend now is for smaller interactive parks using AR and VR much cheaper to develop maintain and update than traditional venues

Absolutely no links today between Apple and Pixar, which is completely a Walt Disney company.

Not read the link but Jobs bought into Pixar when they detached from Lucasfilm. The past link was that Steve Jobs left Apple, bought into Pixar, and later went back to Apple before Pixar then became fully Disney owned.

Apple are currently trying to buy McLaren Racing team, although I think more to do with their interest in driverless cars.
 
There's some tantalising titbits when you look at who Chinese Media Capital are linked with (who bought the stake in the CFG).
I thought Rookie was referring to this rather than them Asimo''s...

Just a rumor, IMHO McLaren don't fit the Apple mantra If Apple do develop a vehicle, they are certainly up to something the number of high level automotive people that they have recruited, its likely to be in the mode of ecological rather than a high performance sports car.

i very doubt it will happen, However the North stand is starting at the end of the season, and may well start earlier like they did with the south stand.
ps the 4th tier was probably a design for the original stadium they proposed for the manchester olympic bid, which was downgraded for the commonwealth games

Do we think it will be the same kind of roof or will they change it? If it's not a closed roof I hope we stick to the same design as I kind of like it.
