Build it and they will come.
I say fuck what the enemy say, and go ahead and build whatever capacity is available.
Sure it will be empty for many games, but with the size of the stadium the club can then guarantee a ticket for fans.

Safe standing and 100k stadium.

I agree that we should build the stadium to it's maximum capacity. The one thing that would maximise revenue (talking in the long term) would be a retractable roof. It would make the Etihad the first option for any major tour - it would rule out the Manchester weather for any Summer concert. I'd happily pay an extra 5% to guarantee being dry.
Plus, imagine a closed roof on a night game ....

I agree mate, lets build the biggest stadium we can, these big stadiums become tourist attractions in their own right, and yes also a big selling point for getting concerts and other stuff like Champions League finals . I always wonder how many tickets we would of sold for the league winning QPR game 70/80'000 ?

I paid £10 for my QPR ticket as when they went on sale the league had gone.I kept trying to sell it to my QPR mate for a fiver as at the time it was a dead rubber and a waste of petrol going at that point.
Turned out OK in the end though !

Got mine when they went on sale, still thought we could win it, but sure I paid about £50, where did £10 come from?

I understand what you are saying but i will still be going along with my family for years to come, wont you ? and i dont see why other fans who have been going for donkeys years should give it up.

I always thought the same as you mate, but since Danny Wilson's letter about the tunnel, the farce over ticket collection and lack of facilities at the ground I'm seriously thinking of packing it all in.
I've had a season ticket since 1970. Been there with my grandad, uncles, dad, mum (all now dead), wife and children, maybe even grand children but I cant get rid of the sour taste.
I hope it turns out not to happen but if it doesn't me and the eldest will walk away.

Can't agree with you about lack of facilities at the ground. It is magnificent. Can't wait for weekend. Same the lower tier concourse might not be as one but bigger problems in life. The ground will change beyond recognition in the coming years. I went to a seminar today about population growth in the city centre. 30000 extra people living in town by 2018. We will need to expand again even after it gets to 61,000.

I haven't been able to get a drink after 2:30pm since the start of the season
The toilets my daughters and wife use have been reduced by 66%
The male toilets now have reduced urinals.

It maybe ok for you but it isn't for everyone. Basically its turning to shit, but I don't expect anyone to care, and certainly not you

Not always right at all but your points seem a little pedantic. You can get a pint in city square. I regularly get in the ground at 2.50 and get a pint with my old man. Same at half time. Never managed to not have a piss at any time I have wanted to either. Can't say I count the men's urinals. The ground is marvellous and will only get better. The football has been brilliant to watch this season. Shane you are not enjoying it - can't say I have noticed many issues at all.
