Etihad Campus, Stadium and Collar Site Development Thread

I don't know how many car parking spaces there are at the stadium, but if there is going to be over two hundred events at the arena annually, this could be a nice little earner for the club.

With the upcoming reduction of on street car parking, I wonder if the club would consider buying up any unused land near the stadium for parking? I park on Bradford road at £10 a pop not far from the Bradford pub. If you look on Google maps there’s a fair bit of waste land between new viaduct street and Bradford road on which at present there is a disused gas tower. With some steps off new viaduct street you could have easy access to a fair few hundred parking slots. Also there are two former smaller car parks off viaduct street that closed to cars to be used at storage for blue shipping containers. That would redress the reduction in parking and provide an extra million or so into the clubs coffers as could be used for co op live as well.

Report from the MEN that could mean a new bus depot at Central Park for these electric buses.

Should mean better services in the area one would think. I’ve mentioned before that Central Park was designed to be an interchange way back twenty years ago including a rail station.

Negotiations with the council for the site are said to be ongoing, with the depot planned to have capacity for up to 250 new electric buses.

Still the same issues, getting in and out of the car park and then into the general traffic would and will be a nightmare, people's habits will have to change.
