Etihad Campus, Stadium and Collar Site Development Thread

Manchester is missing a Birmingham style Conference and Events Centre or London Grosvenor House style hotel that can host prestige events.
When added to the new arena proposal, they would provide a compelling argument for improving transport and infrastructure.
We have a conference centre right in the City centre. GMEX and right next to it there's a purpose-built conference centre. Is this deficient in some way?

Talking about concerts , I wonder why the Academy Stadium or even the Athletic's Stadium is never used for concerts for less bands ?
They both must hold around at least 10 thousand for concerts ?
Not worth it for such low numbers The cost of a smaller gig is probably not a great deal less than one where there are 60k tickets sold.

It isn't really comparable to the NEC, the scale of the NEC is impressive, even if the buildings themselves are showing their age a little. The NEC has 20 interconnected Halls and is the busiest Conference Centre in Europe I believe!! Just to give you an idea Crufts over 4 days attracts circa 160000 people.

Getting a vaccine may not take long - I think the US injected one into 100 people today but the clinical trial lasts at least a year. Hence the 18 month time frame to do the trail, observe the subjects and then produce it.

phase 1 trial started two weeks ago in cambridge
accelerated trials means possibly small ammounts of vaccine available in oct if trials are successful
