Etihad Campus, Stadium and Collar Site Development Thread

Just seen a video on Instagram of Stockport County tarting up Edgeley Park . Just wondering if City are doing anything like this. Surely with this shut down, it's a great time to do things ?

City have a fan base in Manchester alone to sustain large crowds but the club have concentrated on profits, corporates and worldwide reach, and have missed out on getting a grip of our local fans.

Also, City have lost long standing match going fans. I know bloody loads who’ve stopped going. Lads who felt their tickets got too expensive; the way the club concentrated on a kids’ theme park matchday experience left a few lads feeling disconnected and not part-of-it anymore; lads who had to move from parts of the stadium to make way for new areas like the Family Stand or corporates (one lad sat on Level 2 and had to make way for corporate areas and was told he couldn’t sit next to his mate as they could find two seats together so he stopped going full stop).

I think City have [wrongly] tried to become a worldwide supported club and they’ve not done things well with people who were already City fans or already matchgoing fans.
Totally agree with your sentiments, but I don’t believe there were many alternatives after the birth of FFP, which essentially forces clubs to maximise profits.

If we hadn’t gone down the corporate/worldwide road, where extra profit can be generated, would we have faired even worse with FFP than we already have? I’d guess so.

I’d suggest that UEFAs ridiculous FFP laws have hurt the average fan with prices, which is something I feel has been overlooked.

Would we have gone down the corporate/worldwide road without FFP? Possibly, but I feel FFP forced our hand.

I suppose one alternative would be player sales, thus weakening the team, which I don’t think any of us want

Already been posted on the BM, Liverpool thread.

According to the FT the Hackers only have 5000+ season ticket holders with a Liverpool postcode.

It just goes to show how much out of town support the Hackers (and the Rags) get every home game, which we know. City are nowhere near that yet. A won't be unless we keep on winning trophies on a regular basis in the future. City are still a predominantly Manchester supported club.
As funny as it was, it’s not true. It was just an Everton Twitter wind up.
