There’s two huge crawler cranes onsite this morning.Spoke with two of the workmen at the Arena about the two cranes inside,Told weather permitting the big roof beams start being lifted from this morning.

Thanks jrb: love these updates mate. There’s two huge crawler cranes onsite this morning.
All along I’ve been told there would be a static crane as well as crawler cranes to lift the roof trusses into place because the roof trusses are so big and heavy. Even at the Open Doors public presentation. Maybe they’ve decided the crawler cranes can lift the roof trusses on there own?
I’ll pop down at some point this week if they start lifting the roof trusses into place and get some pictures.
If anyone wants to keep an eye out in it, the link to the live cam is here https://www.cooplive.com/the-arena

Interesting, I’m off work tomorrow so if I get the chance I’ll have a look.Think they might have started on the dismantling of the canalside gasometer.
Noooooooooo - I hope they are putting it in a museum somewhere ! Part of my own personal history that ~Think they might have started on the dismantling of the canalside gasometer.
I assume thats going to be the test for tomorrow.Looked to be some sort of light/laser display testing going on inside the ground this evening.
