Etihad Campus, Stadium and Collar Site Development Thread

Electric cars are part of the Government's master plan to get the common man out of cars, they are not the future and never have been until battery technology is revolutionised.
Why? Price parity is almost upon us with 'normal' cars - how will that stop joe bloggs from buying a new car anymore than a petrol vehicle?

Manufacturers are now abandoning the small car segment as the profit margin is either so small or they make a loss, this partly due to the every increasing legislation on safety but also the requirement to stop making ICEV vehicles and switch to BEV which as more expensive to produce due the cost of the electric powertrain
So, consequently the cost of the least expensive cars available on the market will increase considerable
The nonsense is that a BEV is less green than an ICEV due to the energy required both, to manufacture and run, and the self maintenance will be far more difficult although a BEV has far less parts that wear

BEV = Battery Electric Vehicle
ICEV = Internal Combustion Engine Vehicle

Surely worth a punt by CFG and OVG?

The British Basketball League (BBL) has announced it is exploring offers from prospective third-party investors who are interested in investing in the Manchester Giants and the wider Manchester basketball community.

The BBL is currently in the process of engaging with third party investors and is “inviting offers from potential buyers who match the ambition, growth and professionalism of the league.”

The BBL says it is seeking investment from the right strategic partner, who can help redevelop the Giants brand in the long term both on and off the court and develop a world-class operation that can compete at the very top of the British Basketball League and in European competition. Miami-based investment firm 777 Partners backed the league with £7m in December 2021, in return for a 45 per cent stake.

Nevermind the child labour to dig all the minerals out of the ground. Not sure how people justify it and sleep at night!!

A beautiful picture of our stadium in a thread about our stadium.

A regular occurrence before you expansion newbies showed up ;)

Fair enough mate, I thought it was something more profound to do with the expansion . Looking forward to seeing what the club have come up with for the final designs!

Hello City is doing a TH and subtly letting us know that next seasons away kit will be blue and orange shirt, white shorts and yellow socks.

Got a works do this weekend not far from Old Scaffold.

A bit of a trek from where I live, so I thought about booking a hotel for the night. Good one!

2 Premier Inn hotels close by. £152 each for the night.
1 Holiday Inn close by. £194 for the night.
Premier Inn - Manchester Old Trafford Hotel.(arf!) £262 for the night.

Hotel Football.

Gary being the working class lad that he is, always putting the (United fans) first. Standard Room - 1 King, £399. Stadium view, £449. Lol!

The common denominator, the Rags are at home on Saturday.

So what will City charge for a hotel room next to and part of the Etihad Stadium on match days?

Don’t forget, those Hotels are pretty basic, Premier Inns and a Holiday Inn. I’m sure the City hotel will be top notch in comparison.
