Is that confirmed or based on presumption? Would be brilliant if it happens.

Right, don't know really but think simply the roads an trams around the ground can't cope with 55,000 people, plus afternoon evening traffic around the area.all at once. I don't know what the answer is.
Where 20,000 late night leavers will be easier. Hopefully systems that are put in place for the arena will be adapted for the football too, guess it's a case of wait and see. Think there will always be an issue though.

When 50k+ people leave a venue simultaneously, we have to expect a bit of congestion. There is a glaringly obvious issue though when public transport is the expensive option.

If public transport was included in the match ticket price and they increased the surge capacity for events like football matches, far more people would be inclined to use it, which would benefit the environment and local communities hugely.

Possibly, but I used the tram once and it was the hour wait to get on a tram that put me off trying again not the cost. If the cost was included the wait might be longer. Think including in the price would be good not sure it would really help congestion much.

Our problem is no where as bad as what West Ham have got down in Stratford. Could it be that our problem is not really as bad as some people perceive it to be?

Possibly, but I used the tram once and it was the hour wait to get on a tram that put me off trying again not the cost. If the cost was included the wait might be longer. Think including in the price would be good not sure it would really help congestion much.

Agreed about the wait times. It's irritating even more so because the contributing factors seem so glaring and easy to fix.

You shouldn't have to wait 12 mins to get a tram from Picc Station TO the Etihad less than 90 mins before KO. There should have been a queuing system built for trams at the Etihad station so they could have 5 or 6 lined up waiting. Every single tram on the Etihad line on our match days should be a double rather than the single ones.

Surely this is the time to grasp this issue. Out transport systems are a total shambles. If the Government won't help us then Manchester should lead the way with overseas investment. This would be a great project for Sheikh Mansour to get involved in. The Germans are 30 years ahead of us with integrated transport, with double decker trains, trams, high speed rail mostly powered by clean energy.
Manchester has had sod all support from successive London governments of all political colours. Burnham needs to get his act together. New transport infrastructure is the biggest challenge for the next 20 years because, without it, the economy will collapse. We managed to build a 36-mile ship canal (the biggest in the world at the time) with private money in the face of London (and Liverpool) opposition.

Haven't they also introduced a bus service between the Etihad and Piccadily Station?

You don't provide extra services by making it all free, someone has to pay for it and transport in this country is a rip of charging 16 year olds full adult prices. So unless the club want to fork out a 6 figure subsidy for each game nothing will change.
