Yes things are still being finished off but given time it will all be forgotten about, the sound within the arena bowl is incredible compared to other venues around the country and there is a noticeable difference in terms of view points around the venue.

Theres issues at most venues during the opening, theres a reason venues this size don't open every week its one hell of a challenge with lots of moving parts, even venues that have been opened 20+ years have issues during changes, some are just more publicised than others

Exactly !!! Good to see a voice of reason on here.

Can’t believe people moaning about a test event. Oblivious that they get ticket for a gig for free so the venue can test stuff out and iron out issues.

The Arena will be the best in the country by a long shot. Once punters start attending proper gigs there they won’t wanna go to any other arenas again.

Screens were 'on' this evening...

Displayed the message 'Test screen 1, 2, 3 & 4'. Looked very pixilated. As you say, only in the corners and not wrapped all the way round the arena.

Again all links to the power issue, it will be the full wrap but they focused on the corners for the launch to show the co op live logo and had an internal deadline of the Madrid game to test it with the "Good Luck Man City"
 
Could get a lot messier as I can't see that it is anywhere near being able to hold events with 23k in any time soon. It's bad enough that it's nowhere near ready now but the original opening date was July last year. How has it got so far behind?
 
I'd guess the perfect shitstorm the world is going through may have something to do with it.

For instance I couldn't buy any carrots whatsoever at our local Asda yesterday (admittedly I didn't look for tins, but then who would).

Covid/brexit caused huge delays in getting the steel & parts required couple that with the workers lost who left after brexit and it's easy to see how it fell behind.

Big question now is can they get it done for next Monday. They can be excused one setback but misjudging it again and having to push back again and everyone starts to lose faith in those making the decisions and the venue in general
