Re: Etihad Campus & potential new stadium

Does anyone Know if there is a map around with the collar sight marked out, and any other land they have for development, just to give an idea of the scale of the development possibilities.

I will mark up a google map giving you an idea next week.

What kind of capacity are we looking at? An extra 12k

Find this frustrating lol.. if you have seen stuff, post it up :-D

Agreed, it's so annoying knowing all these amazing plans are going on behind the scenes and we can only hear tiny bits about them! But I appreciate the bits of information you give out GXCity and I can't wait to see them one day.

What annoys me is that fans of other clubs are so ill informed and haven't got a clue. The majority believe things will be as is now with regards investment limited to players and wages (or lack of it if you wander into the transfer forum) or HRH Mansour will get bored of his play thing and do one eventually. In my job i deal with suppliers from all across the UK, often having them stay over in Manchester following meetings. I'm more than happy to give them an insight into the regeneration Mnachester as a city has seen in the last 10 years, and the continued regeneration that will follow both for the city of manchester and for manchester city as an integral part of it. I think when the plans are announced, those outside of the MCFC community will sit up and take note and realise that ADUG/MCFC aren't pissing about.

Re: Etihad Campus & potential new stadium

Anyone else think a redeveloped much larger 2nd tier at both ends of the stadium could look something like this, with a redesigned roof?(at each end)

I'm sure executive boxes will be added between the tiers, just like the East Stand and Colin Bell stand.

Not fishing GXCity. ;-)

Re: Etihad Campus & potential new stadium

Just to remind every one how I envisaged the ends being done...

Exec Boxes would be extended all the way around

As I see it, the key stumbling blocks are:

A) the roof - I've got the ends slopping the other way but with the inner 'ring' still as it is today but I have no solution for routing water down to those big spouts
B) access/egress for supporters - my view is that more spirals would be required (as in the original 2000 Olympics Stadium Concept)
C) corner air flow vanes - these would be covered up so another solution would be required

So whilst my drawings look feasible, since I mocked them up I'm no longer convinced it can work quite like this

I thought of the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff when GXCity mentioned the 2nd tier's being extended to look like the kop. It could look amazing if you could get the 2nd tier at each end to join with the 3rd tier at the top like the picture below that somebody made on a different site, only without the huge scoreboard, and the seats being blue of course. (The picture was too large to post so I put the url instead).
