i dont mind having a stadium with a capacity of 80,000+ but the big worry is whether we will sell out or not, dont want city to end up being like wigan were there are empty seats everywhere. i like the idea though, dont get me wrong.

If there were masses of empty seats in an 80,000 seater they would all be up in the gods anyway because that is where most "General Sale" tickets are, and you hardly see up there on TV.

oh yeah, i never thought of that. hopefully we can sell out any if it happens

Whoever is in charge of this project should consider communication! Maybe there isn't a project and we are way ahead of ourselves due to misinformation.

Don't worry mate!

Thought by now that this would all have been firmed up a bit. The FA Cup crowds yet more confirmation that demand is there. FA Cup crowds 50% up on the back of a 50% price hike.

Great pictures of the Training Ground. When it starts to near completion in 12 months time it will create an even bigger buzz around the club. At the moment City make their name through the transfer spend, but when the new development starts to take shape it will force a lot of people outside City to reassess their view of the club.

Re: Etihad Campus & potential new stadium

To JRB, FBloke, GXCity, and anyone else with any knowledge of the development of the "Collar site".

I'm interested to get your take, and an update of the facts on the Leisure Destination. Has there been any update on this from anyone associated with the club since the Etihad sponsorship deal of the Campus was announced?

My interpretation was that a feasibility study was done of building an "Internationally significant" leisure destination, and that it was found to be not feasible because of the location / weather etc. So instead it was decided the site would be used for our academy / training facilities and some local facilities (6th form college, swimmings pool etc) that would be sponsored (by Etihad). The beauty being that the cost of building these would not count towards FFP, but the revenue would count in our favour.

There has obviously been wild speculation on Bluemoon about Las Vegas style hotels, Disney theme parks, Ferrari World etc, but there seems to have been absolutely no mention of any leisure destination by anyone associated with the club for over 2 years. I may be wrong on that, and I'd be delighted to be proven wrong, but I was very much under the impression that the "internationally significant" leisure destination idea had been dropped by the club some time ago?

The new academy/training facilities are not on the collar site, they're on the old Clayton Aniline site. The bulk of the collar site is currently the East Car Park.
