The most interesting bits for me was the admission the existing sporting facilities to the north and east of the stadium are set to be moved down to a central hub on Grey Mare Lane.

So the Tennis centre and mini athletics track look like being the wiggle room we need for stadium expansion?

Also on the collar site diagram. This is the first time I have read any reference to the huge North car park being appropriated for commercial and leisure use?

That's a sizeable plot itself!

It would appear car parks will be a thing of the past, or at least moved way beyond the current tentacles of the stadium.

Good stuff.
The North Car parks are easily big enough to house a stadium

Re: Etihad Campus & potential new stadium

Great updates people. Lots of twists and turns but great seeing the masterplan unravel

Re: Etihad Campus & potential new stadium

Can someone sum the report up in a nut shell for me CBA reading the hole thing please.

There was a feasibility study done and they can get an 80,000 seater on that site.

Didn't they find some land that would house a 100,000 seater stadium as well

Yeah, but they're building a new training ground on it instead.

I'd imagine that also applies to the Analine Site?

However, the design brief we now have for the new training ground (bridge etc) would pretty much indicate the stadium is going nowhere.

If anything, it all seems to suggest it will now have a great big arse end integrated into it from the North side tennis HQ and Athletics stadium.

That would have been the Clayton Aniline site. But that plan fell through when the Glazers discovered that Sheikh Mansour & Khaldoon Al-Mubarak were, in fact, aka The Red Knights and were planning to merge the two clubs so refused to sell.

That's as how I see it, why move them unless it was for stadium expansion on that side.

A stadium expansion would not need the north car parks at all as the extension wouldn't even go near the new tram stop otherwise why put it in?
