Re: Etihad Campus & potential new stadium

I know the last 24 hours have been a bit shit but let's look at the bigger picture of where this, our, club is heading.

We will arguably have the best training facility in the world next year, we will be expanding the stadium, we will have invested in the local area helping to make East Manchester in to a modern sought after area, the plans for the Campus are still to be revealed, we have one of the best squads in Europe, we have THE best owner in World football.

Yes this has been a rocky 24 hours but we aren't going away and maybe this is going to be the first part of the next stage in the Sheikhs 5 stage plan.

Come on Blues, the future is bright and I can assure you off the field there are no such issues as those on the field, which I personally feel can be put right with a few tweaks.

We will be back stronger than we have ever known next year and a few of the threads and posts will probably get bumped.

Chins up and see you in Reading

At last a post that has cheered me up no end. Like others have said I love this thread, I just hope my number isn't called in before we have chance to see some fruit ripen from this.

No I agree. If one thing pissed me off about Mancini it was not giving youth a chance. I imagine Txiki and Pellegrini will be much more willing to do so, particularly when the new complex is complete.

They weren't good enough, which I think we can agree is a fair reason for Mancini not to select them. Name a young player the club have released on Mancini's watch who's gone on to better things.

And we've not really had many comfortable games to allow them to play 15-25 mins in the 2nd half...

New Minnesota vikings stadium. Now that's what you call a stadium. Wish more football stadium had original designs like this as opposed to the usual generic stadiums.

You couldn't have something like that in Manchester. Think how much lead those windows would need. The local scrotes and the pikeys would be battling each other every week to see who got to rob it first.

Re: Etihad Campus & potential new stadium

Thought for a long time that build an exoskeleton and containing within restaurants(not just chains but a bit more quality), shops of our sponsors (Hugo Boss might be interested for example, we could also then extend our range of sponsors) and big merchandise stores within the structure.

You could also then extend the corporate facilities and I think add things like open to the public and private restaurants(for corporate members), maybe with famous chefs putting their name on it or chefs who want to earn michelin stars opening up so that we attract the corporate clientele even more.

Then you can revamp the concourse areas that you would enter into, make the bars/kiosks more varied, maybe make it a bit more open plan, improve the quality of the offerings there for people who don't want a full meal then I think you would improve the matchday experience in a beneficial way and not just with silly gimmicks that don't mean anything. It would also create footfall to the site.

not my fault! said:
Would rather have a Dallas Cowboys style stadium.

Agree, Visited the cowboys stadium last November for a match against the Washington Redskins. Fantastic facilities, we were in the third tier behind one of the goals and still had a great view,The second tier concourse was sponsored by Ford Motor Group and looked like a car show room and has several cars on display and the stadium looks even better at night.

It's the best one of the dozen or more stadiums i have visited in the USA so far
