Re: Etihad Campus & potential new stadium

I had a drive past the new complex today after an enjoyable hour queuing to relocate as I get to and from the ground at the opposite end on match days. I have to say the scale of it is breathtaking when you see it in the flesh rather than the excellent photos on here.

I wonder how the media are going to come up with negatives when it is finished........they will definitely try to.

not seen it if already covered elsewhere but I noticed that the diggers were on the Grey Mare Lane market site on the way home tonight so looks like work beginning across the whole site now

Re: Etihad Campus & potential new stadium

Perhaps a bit unrelated but a mate of mine that do a bit of consulting for arabtec met a guy that mentioned that so far our guys in Abu Dhabi was pleasantly surprised that building costs at the campus/stadium was less than they expected..Obviously a barbed point directed at their local builders but nice to hear anyway.

Yes when he has banged 30 goals in for the first team.
True, but you get my point? we know are at that stage where the best youngster want to come to us.
Look at Lukaku, He scored 121 goals in 68 games for Lierse between 2004-2006 when he was 11-13 and then 131 goals in 93 games for Anderlecht when he was 14-17. Even at youth level that is impressive.

give me paul moulden any day

I noticed that to, also, what ever was behind it (a primary school I think) has been knocked down and flattened.

Manchester City, ruining community markets since 2013.

It's the Market and the Old market that are being knocked down, St Brigids school is still intact.

Ferna getting the lowdown on expansion on his interview vid.

I noticed that too. Did anyone else also see the bit where it looked liked Ferran Soriano was talking to Fernandinho about the expansion of the stands. Ferran Soriano seemed to be gesticulating along the lines of "the roof will come off, we'll chuck in 20,000 seats on the top tier and we'll have the tallest 3rd tier in the world."

You could tell Fernandinho was amazed by what he was being told.
