Re: Etihad Campus & potential new stadium

Considering FFPR is about to kick in, you'd think every penny counts. It seems Mansour still isn't affraid of splashing the cash on the stadium.

Obviously there's a couple of quid left in the kitty. :-)

It's taken that fucking long to get the tram line up and running, only 10 years late, that I will probably be dead before anything ever gets built. So losing interest fast.

With this, other than MCC saying YES, central and local government are out of putting it together. The guys who run us nowadays are used to getting things done so it wouldnt surpise me to see this up and running during next season

But spending on the stadium does not count as expenditure for the purposes of FFPR.

Only worry about FFPR when we have a team that can compete at the top table in Europe. it does not matter if we are excluded out of competitions we can not win in any case. get the players in and then take them to court. This is against all EU working rights directives.

Re: Etihad Campus & potential new stadium

New stadium takes the pressure off our pitch and gives EDS/Youth/Academy a platform with facillities to benefit their development.

It also adds, a community and local region ground for use by North West Counties FA, a potential new HQ for the Manchester County FA, links to the tennis centre/basketball/cycling/squash/athletics communities.

I cannot wait.

The proposal

Over the past 12 months Manchester city Football Club (MCFC) have been looking at various proposals to provide a memorable and lasting landmark for both City fans and visitors to the stadium .

Through a number of feasibility studies the club has chosen both preferred scheme and location where it believes it can best deliver its required outcomes.

The proposal is to create a granite ring that circles the current club shop (City Centre) at the Etihad Campus. It is proposed that the granite ring will have
120mm waterjet holes cut into the top facing surface, in which to insert one of three different disks on offer.

Once complete the disks will spell out the words to Manchester City football Club's unofficial song "Blue Moon".

All of the works associated with this project are ground works and the club has undertaken measures to ensure the quality of the proposed finish is of a qualityexceeding the current.

The scheme will not change or impact the flow of traffic around the stadium (no obstacles will be created) and the topography of the site will remain
unchanged.

Independent tests have also been undertaken regarding slip resistance.

so from what I understand it's watershoots spelling the song, flying into the air? It's impressive from up in the sky, but most fans won't really see it? just a watershoot flying past their heads... Sort of like what happens when they show lives games at the square and everyone is throwing beer everywhere.

I'd be most impressed by putting the square indoors :)

No, it's discs (personalised by fans buying them) spelling the song, the holes for the discs to go into are cut by waterjets ;-)
