The proposal
Over the past 12 months Manchester city Football Club (MCFC) have been looking at various proposals to provide a memorable and lasting landmark for both City fans and visitors to the stadium .
Through a number of feasibility studies the club has chosen both preferred scheme and location where it believes it can best deliver its required outcomes.
The proposal is to create a granite ring that circles the current club shop (City Centre) at the Etihad Campus. It is proposed that the granite ring will have
120mm waterjet holes cut into the top facing surface, in which to insert one of three different disks on offer.
Once complete the disks will spell out the words to Manchester City football Club's unofficial song "Blue Moon".
All of the works associated with this project are ground works and the club has undertaken measures to ensure the quality of the proposed finish is of a qualityexceeding the current.
The scheme will not change or impact the flow of traffic around the stadium (no obstacles will be created) and the topography of the site will remain
unchanged.
Independent tests have also been undertaken regarding slip resistance.

so from what I understand it's watershoots spelling the song, flying into the air? It's impressive from up in the sky, but most fans won't really see it? just a watershoot flying past their heads... Sort of like what happens when they show lives games at the square and everyone is throwing beer everywhere.
I'd be most impressed by putting the square indoors :)
