so from what I understand it's watershoots spelling the song, flying into the air?It's impressive from up in the sky, but most fans won't really see it? just a watershoot flying past their heads... Sort of like what happens when they show lives games at the square and everyone is throwing beer everywhere.

I'd be most impressed by putting the square indoors :)

No, it's discs (personalised by fans buying them) spelling the song, the holes for the discs to go into are cut by waterjets ;-)

Bare with me, I'm even more confused now... Discs, in which format? Blu-Ray? Cd? DVD?

Somewhat surprsingly none of these, going for the retro look of the old floppy discs, heard our owner bought a shed load just before CDR's came out and has been looking for an outlet since. He's taken his time, but the real reason he bought the club is now out in the open, once this is done he'll be off.

Lovely add on's to the stadium/city square etc...but part of me can't help thinking that with the implementation of such 'appendages' an all singing/dancing stadium expansion is either less likely or much further into the future than I initially thought....unless...a 'new stadium' is mooted for elsewhere whilst the current t'etihad will be the new 'Morrisons International Meat Counter Arena'?? :)

Walked back into town last night because the traffic was grid locked and couldn't see the point in catching the 216, till we got pissed wet through. Anyone know when the tram is going to start running, it's been finished for ages.

The first phase of the tram is meant to be running late 2012, I'm sure it originally said Spring 2012 though.

Only if you live in Alty or Bury :) judging by the constant 'updates' I get through my door you'll do well to see it by early 2013.

People in Bury, Altrincham & Eccles have been asking the same question for years.

Metrolink apparently expect to be running test trams as soon as the seasons over, but won't commit to anything more definite than 2012.
