JRB, I fear one of the answers to your question is I think there will be a limit on the £299 tickets. Hope i'm wrong though.

Its obvious, the £299 tickets will be in the cheapest/worst part of the ground... Of course they will.... Its a business, and FFP will ensure all clubs have to maximise profits as much as possible....

TBF there isn't a worst part of the ground, unile like other PL stadia. level 3 South Stand will be just as good as Level 3 East and Level 3 Colin Bell.

I appreciate one level 3 is behind the goal and the other 2 level 3's are alongside the pitch. But having sat in South Stand Level 2 for a few season after we moved from MR, I can assure you the view from behind the goal is pretty good and on a par with viewing from the sides.

Of course there is... Level 3 behind the goal will always be less attractive than level 3 along the side of the pitch.... Comparing a different ground to prove your point is silly....

Check the cost of tickets across the league. Nowhere will have tickets behind the goal, less expensive than down the side at a comparable height....

Of course there's a difference, but in the grand scale of things the view from level 3 in the South Stand won't be bad. And at £299 compared to what Colin Bell and East Stand level 3 prices are(?), £299 will be a steal.

Put it this way. How much is it to stand directly behind the goal in the in South Stand Lower, or to sit behind the goal in the Family Stand? It's much more than £299. As for the view?

I'm not moaning about the £299 season tickets, it's a great idea, but some fans will be miffed about paying well over the odds for inferior views compared to Level 3 South Stand.

I never said it was bad... but it will always be less attractive/less expensive than a comparable height down the side. Why is this?? nothing more than supply and demand... More people prefer the side than the end...

People will always have different opinions on what is the best view, etc. I sit in the South Stand mainly down to cost/atmosphere/mates/habit. However, im aware it isn't the best view in the place.... £299 tickets wont give everyone the choice of where to sit. Some will be lucky and get a single seat in a good place. Most will be up in the gods or in a part of the ground they didn't want to be.... Its a risk people will take paying so little

You didn't. I never said you did.

It will. And for half the price, people might find that hard to swallow.

Likewise. I'm more than happy to pay £500+ to stand in Block 111. I'm paying for the atmosphere.

Anyway, it's not my problem. I'm just discussing one of many scenarios that could happen leading up to the expansion of South Stand, level 3. :-)

I had that picture on my wall when I was a kid mate, looked ace. Shame we never even came close eh!?

On the subject of the roof I'm pleased top see that the angle of it will change (suppose it has to). I'm no expert and I know that it isn't the most important element in the atmosphere within a stadium but I don't think the angle of the South Stand roof helps at all as it faces upwards and any noise made goes straight up and out. Other stadiums with lower roofs keep the noise in. At hamburg away I remember it echoing and ringing round, sounded brilliant. Hopefully the new stands will help keep the noise in

This one?

If there will be gaps like that between the CB/East stands and North/Sound stands then the wind gusts and possibly rain will make it pretty shitty for people sat in the new tiers during winter. I like the look of it though.

Haha would be great for us blues who used to stand between the Kippax and North Stand in the 70's & 80's getting pissed wet through watching through the netting under the edge of the North Stand roof for some protection.

Haha Maine Road did run through my mind when posting that

Is the consultation office open tomorrow, Saturday?

View from Alan Turing Way last night, with the concrete tiers in place.
