What's the chances of seeing this sort of cladding added to areas of the current stadium?

Driving past the place you notice how grey and boring it is especially on a typical Manchester day. I bit of brightening up with this sort of cladding would do it the world of good.

Dont want it ending up looking like Vera Duckworth's place!

Let´s pebble dash it sky blue!!

This sort of reminds me of what Swales did to the Main Stand. Looked awful after he re-clad the original brickwork.

Etihad logo on the roof, featured in the Khaldoon end of season interview.

Not seen this mentioned in the thread, but apologies if it has.

Is it just me or does this picture of the stadium seem to be the same height at the south and north stand as the east and west?

Re: Etihad Campus & potential new stadium

Two pictures of building one of said roof tensions in place and another one general building.

Re: Etihad Campus & potential new stadium

The top one clearly shows how important the roof struts at the north stand end were to the whole even without a roof at that end to support. No expert but if the struts have to be there for the whole it doesnt look like they could build a stand alone north stand without a rethink on these supports.

Nope. It shows the stadium in exactly the same dimensions it is currently in.

Re: Etihad Campus & potential new stadium

Think it is possible to build the new turrets first, leaving the roof in place then secure the roof to the new turrets while extending the north and south stands.

I don’t think it is

As I have mentioned, numerous times in this thread, the roof is a mono-structure, primary support is the PRE-TENSIONED cable net. The roof design is light weight, therefore the foundations will be designed for this so any replacement roof would have to be light Think about the roof as a tent with the guide ropes representing part of the cable net imagine cutting away part of the tent including the guide ropes and putting a new piece in!

Look at the stadium in plan view and observe where the turrets and cable anchors are in relation to the outer wall and you will see how difficult this makes building new structure
