Agreed. Only way I can see us getting shut is if ADUG buy Wallmart.

-- Thu Jun 28, 2012 7:26 pm --

Unless we build some sort of shopping mall as part of main stadia complex and provide them with a brand spanking new store.

Re: Etihad Campus & potential new stadium

Tramline was supposed to open in Summer 2012.

Put back 3 months. Source Traffic for Greater Manchester Committee.

As previously reported the issues and challenges in respect of TMS
implementation will delay the opening of the line to Droylsden in the order
of 3 months beyond the planned date of summer 2012. The delivery of
the line will be kept under close review as TMS is rolled out across the
system.

i remember a thread or a comment that there was a model of the proposed new stadium on Gary Cooks desk or some other high up fucker ?

anyone else remember this ?

There was a plan up at City as early as Oct 2009 with how they wanted the expanded stadium & surrounding area to look. At the time there was a meeting between City, the council & a big contractor who we all know & the plans were talked over, the brief was "bigger than OT" & "world class". It now seems that's becoming reality!
All this was in the very first pages of the Las Vegas thread & loads of PM's we're flying around at the time.

Not really been following this thread. Whats the issue with the Asda mate, did we want to buy that land instead of the site we have purchased or something?

Asda brings people to the area and shows the full sports facilities surrounding it. The National Cycling centre, MCFC and more. perfect advertisement that City embraces the local area.

ASDA brings local people to the area to buy groceries, nothing more nothing less.

You would think people stay away from ASDA on matchdays, and would think it would be in ASDA's interest to sell to us and move away from the ground.
