Its a fantastic way of letting news leak out.

I think we covered the links to AD and UFC on here quite well both before and after Garry Cook's employment.

And there are enough of us who expect that "mini"-multi purpose arena on the collar site now.

Its an ideal marriage and no doubt just one of a few similar projects that will involve IP sales.

Remember that anything that uses the MCFC badge or brand is OK for FFP revenue purposes wherever it happens globally.

So is it right that we could have affiliated teams of many sports Basketball, Ice Hockey etc. all paying the parent club IP sales ? As well as income from concerts, conferences etc,. Assuming the arena belongs to the club, it would be another venue that attracts a sponsor.
Is the collar sight project in partnership with the council ? If so I presume some income is shared with the council.

Watch the shit hit the fan when this comes out properly. The Rags, Arsenal, and their fans will be fuming. Not to mention Chelsea and Liverpool. F***ing love it!:-)

Gutted there are nopics of ringed empty seats considering the poor attendance and the author;-)

It's "right", yes. However, I suspect that if we buy a number of clubs in other sports and charge them several million each to use our name, as we may (or may not, it's hardly been proven yet) have done already, then UEFA will eventually catch wind and change the rules to ban us from essentially passing money to ourselves and calling it income. That said, it wouldn't necessarily deter us altogether, if creating a City network was seen as big enough business potential that FFPR was a relatively minor aspect only.

Personally, I've seen nothing so far to indicate that we have any intention to actually branch out into other sports. That said, watching City's expansion into other countries has been my guilty pleasure so far - I know that I shouldn't "enjoy" the club just becoming a marketing brand, but secretly I kind of do - and I would be as happy as punch to see it happen. I think it has distinct advantages, though I would admit it also has its disadvantages. It is, perhaps, something that we should only explore in a few seasons, when we have sorted out our act on setting up football clubs first. Otherwise we are at risk to opening ourselves up to strong accusations of trying to buy the interest of fans.

I do find this interesting re: UFC

I never knew UFC started in Manchester and the last line on the description below is intriguing.

The 62,000 seat question
Manchester City are looking to extend the Etihad Stadium to become a 62,000-seater.

Who are they kidding? They don’t have the support to sell out that kind of capacity every week.

In my eyes only Manchester United, Liverpool, Everton, Arsenal and Tottenham are big enough to attract that kind of gate on a regular basis. The City bosses should be taking smaller steps in expanding the ground.

Their main priority is making sure they remain contenders on the pitch in the Premier League and in Europe before they start making bold statements like this.

No one likes to see thousands of empty seats.
