For those who are new to the thread, or indeed anyone who needs a refresh here is a link to the overarching agreement(s) between MCFC, MCC and NEM

https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&r...=ADKdCUQMRY1gymSJsVNIuw&bvm=bv.52164340,d.ZG4

In there you will find a few interesting details about things that have happened as well as those that haven't yet happened.

Interesting is the detail about the need for City to utilise 25% of the collar site within 15 years - that will be easily achievable as City already have the @Home offices etc planned for the far end which could well match that need?

It goes a long way to detailing how complex it is and a lot of it is way over my head in terms of planning and partnerships. We have the perpetual media crap that we are nothing but bad for football but this just shows the intent by the club not only to improve the football club, but also their commitment to the bigger picture of Manchester.

All the pitches are 11 a side size but all up to u13s play on 5 -9 a side pitches.

I know they can put cones out for them, but might have been nice to include some bespoke pitches for the young lads

And lose the adaptability to use a full size pitch? The whole complex has been designed to change over the years. That remit actually came from Arsene Wenger who bemoans the fact the their academy is unable to change now that it is complete. City wanted the flexibility to constantly adapt to new methods and technologies. There is nothing to say that a smaller pitch can't be marked up on larger one is there? But I reckon you may struggle to mark up a full size one on a 5 a side pitch.

Again there is always someone who is negative! Just trust in the club. They have never let us down and the people involved know a lot more than me and you on what is required to train young and elite footballers.

I can't believe that there won't be "open days" or tours of the new complex when it is finished (obviously when no training is taking place)...there is nothing like showing off your new toy now is there...not to mention good visibility for our global partner sponsors...and I, for one, can't wait!!

I liked the B of the Bang, I also liked that Soviet-esque "be part of it" painting with Mancini with all the players holding flags. It would be cool to have similar things for this/next season.

Does anyone know when the extension on the stadium starts? And while it's being done will capacity be reduced?

Not really posted much on this thread but love reading GX'S updates and seeing Jrb's pics.

Does anybody know if once complete there will be facilities to eat etc, restaurants as my lad was asking me the other day. Saying it would be great on match day to watch the EDS etc and then the First team.

It wouldn't surprise me if tours were a regular occurrence, probably whilst players are training too.
City already offer this, including lunch, although it does cost a few bob.

-- Wed Sep 18, 2013 9:48 am --

I almost sure there will be cafes/restaurants open to the fans, extra matchday hospitality but can't imagine it being cheap

Wouldn't it be an idea to have the EDS in the morning then the first team in the afternoon, and having a few thousand fans staying through, drinking and eating and adding to the FFP coffers?

It would be fantastic.I tend to go to City square pre match with my lad but only hang around for about an hour.If there were early morning matches then this would be fantastic.(Not sure her indoors would be best pleased mind).

We hang around in town till 2.30 and then get a taxi to the game
Sometimes I might go to City Square instead for an hour and a half.

If the new facilities were cosy and not ridiculously expensive then I would use them either before or after the game as we tend to make a day of it.
On the other hand my other half is always there with me!

That was fantastic; brilliantly done. One of my favourite pieces of "art work" if you can call an advert such.
