If the EU decides to start a trade war with the UK, I'm sure the people of Britain will develop a taste for Toyota and Ford cars, Australian wine, etc, if European goods become much more expensive and European countries are seen as being anti Britain. More than likely we won't buy so many, they'll get pissed off and reduce the prices to increase or maintain market share, then pressure their governments (or do I mean the EU) to ditch the taxes.

You understand that this would be massively to the disadvantage of EU countries? Their goods would be much more expensive and they run the risk of severely pissing off one of their most important export markets.It won't be a trade war. We will just have the same deal as Countries outside the free trade agreement.
