Those are liberal European values and let's not forget that NZ, Aus, Finland, Norway and parts of Russia all had female suffrage first. Single sex marriage was in a dozen countries some of them relatively conservative catholic ones before the UK, democracy would perhaps be claimed as a Greek value etc so yes they are British values but it's probably fairer to say they were liberal European values
Who gives a fuck who had what first?

Stoner asked what British values were. I answered.

I doubt any country had full hegemony on any set of values. Other than maybe KSA. But I wouldn't want theirs and only ISIS seems to want to copy them.

I can certainly concur on the Saudi part, the British often aww our values as peculiarly British, my point was those were universal western liberal values true in much of Europe, North America etc

Basically Any international company that set up factories and HQ's in the UK that did it to trade with Europe. Which will be quite a few.

Currently I dont speak any other languages very well, But I would happily learn the language of any country I moved to. Im guessing by your comment you have not traveled much in Europe as its very easy to get by without knowing the language as they all speak English as its the global business language. In many EU countries we have seen the locals even speaking English to each other as practice. In Denmark even the road signs and landmarks have English as the primary language.

That first point You think these companies have spent billions here on factories and training a workforce are suddenly going to lift and shift. You could even argue that the billions we pay annually to the EU would generate more UK jobs if it were spent here instead.

Lucky everyone speaks English.

Fair enough. I certainly don't think Britain is particularly special for this values and they shouldn't be used as a reason for leaving the EU. I was just replying to stoner who asked what British values were.

I suspect he thought the person he quoted was being racial. However British values are the antithesis of Sharia law which is becoming prevalent in some areas of the country. Leaving the EU would not change that mind.

Yes, that's exactly what I think and expect, if a company thinks they will be more profitable moving, they will, and wont bat an eye lid doing it.

You could even argue that the billions we pay annually to the EU would generate more UK jobs if it were spent here instead.

Do you believe for one second that the general public or businesses ( baring ones with links to the gov ) will see any of that money?.

Yes, its much easier to move British jobs than those of many other European countries, we are a 'service' country, very little industry anymore, very few factories. We have spent decades running the economy for the benefit of the 'City', now if that were to begin to relocate to Frankfurt for example then the 'scare stories' of a 6% drop in GDP would be laughably underestimated

Companies have been lifting and shifting out of the UK for the whole of my lifetime, not sure why it would be any less because we banned the Polish or Muslims from entering

Whose banning poles or Muslims?

If we left the union then more companies would move here; they would no longer have to follow the EU regulations when they trade with the rest of the world, whereas their still Europe based competitors would have to follow all the EU regulations for all aspects of their business.
Making it cheaper to move to the UK to do business, imagine a UK that could control its own regulations and negotiate its own trade deals. Winner.

So there we have it, Britain is in the European Union for the benefit of Germany. And the remain camp keep telling us that trade would suffer after Brexit. Hahahahahah.

I can't even bring myself to read it the propaganda machine of the express would look extreme even on North Korea. I heard there is an article in the sports section that Farahe shot 29 for 18 holes beating Kim Jong Il's previous world record. You can't even trust the date on the front page
