Oh, it is official, I kid you not, I work with BIS (the old DTI). The head of our organisation began this years little pep talk with "This government has no industrial strategy" no left wing fire brand he, he's a true blue Tory, chairman of his golf club etc. Strategy is a socialist word ,for these neoliberal nutjobs it is an an anathema.

Thanks perfect fumble.

Btw in another working life I used to work with BIS on the European Working Time Directive (that was linked to the Agency Workers for much of the negotiations). I can't say I noticed any obvious socialists lol! They were good people and negotiators but their strings were largely being pulled by the CBI and it was like they were on placement from industry in BIS!

You mean when I'm proved right? I thought I was replying to EB2's somewhat ridiculous comment about Minford being discredited.

It's not a good thing being right too often on here! I was blocked after predicting Willy Caballero would be our match winner at Wembley and when we were confirmed in 4th place at the end of the season lol!

So you'd rather back Cameron & Blair

Listen...you're the one that started throwing names into the hat...there are tools on both sides of the argument...but unlike the remain...the leave campaign hasn't been about personal smears ala Johnson & Farage...everyone knows they are tools...we are not voting to leave because of personalities that agree with our sentiment...we are backing leave for our own reasons...alot of which has very little to do with Xenophobia...racism or any other right wing rhetoric

The EU is a capitalist private boys club who favour the employer over the employee every time...I want no part of it

I disagree with you on the smears it has been prominent on both sides. The whole campaign has been the ugliest most depressing campaign imaginable orchestrated by the tories and very much part of the Lynton Crosby style of politics. Not once has anyone side whilst holding these big press conferences been positive about anything. For example the funds that the EU provided when the Arndale got bombed.

I also disagree on workers rights apart from TTIP which the French and Germans are not having the EU has been employee positive better health and safety, shorter working hours, etc. Even watching Jeremy Corbyn who was honest enough to say he wasn't all singing and dancing behind the EU recognises this. But come what may all will be revealed on the 23rd June. I can see it being very very tight .

I think a lot of people have missed the implications of the balls up to online registration that occurred on the last day. That will come back to haunt us Brexiters and not just because it will allow more youngsters to vote. It will be a godsend to Cameron and the leavers because if Brexit win the ECJ will challenge the legality of the referendum. At that stage the sh1t will hit the fan and there will be civil unrest up and down the country. Civil war in suits.

Bank Of England, IMF, IFS etc - are all these institutions EU funded or governed ? Has there been any non EU funded/governed institutions that wish to remain ?

That's not exactly the most balanced article, is it?
Project Fear (Leave Branch)!

Don't know if this has already been discussed,

Someone pointed out to me today that because I have an Irish grandfather (from Cork) I & my 2 sons can apply for Irish citizenship by registering on the Irish Foreign Births Register, this then allows us to apply for Irish passports giving us dual citizenship,
I might look in to it if it's an out vote, more for my kids than me as my youngest may want to work on the continent after leaving uni.

I hope he appreciates the high levels of youth unemployment over there.

This is the arrogance of the remain campaign...you couldn't get more stereotypes into a post if you tried..the smug holier than thou 'I know best' attitude of the remain is what has turned the neutrals to leave

Fully agree - there has been so much arrogance and complacency - bordering on contempt - across the board from the EU leaders - to Cameron and the Remain party - and it also comes out in some of the posts that you read on this forum, ranging from Vote Leave people are all racist or xenophobic to being ignorant and unable to consider the implications or consequences.

I am just back from a golfing weekend and off the 30 of us there I think that 6 were remain, 16 were leave and the other 8 were not definitely decided but amongst these (and those voting leave) there were a lot of comments that they are/have been persuaded to the leave position by the negative, patronising and 'doom-mongering' that we have been inundated with.

All of a sudden, perhaps Tusk is thinking that the EU should have offered more and Cameron et al are thinking that they should not have been so over-confident and patronising.

If only this country were run by golf clubs, taxi drivers and barbers eh?....

Well - setting aside the obvious suggestion that they may do a better job...........

I was merely stating that in a gathering of 30 people what the intentions are re voting in a referendum where individuals each have a vote - be them taxi drivers, barbers of Prime Ministers - and the reasons given by some for being persuaded towards the Leave position.

So that was the purpose of my post on a thread to discuss the upcoming referendum and I would suggest that it is 'on topic'.

So can you advise just what the fuck was the purpose of your post - or do you just like to post shit for the sake of it?

That is so deliciously self fulfilling, there could be nothing more idiotic than letting personality rather than facts rule on a decision like this. So In anger at being treated like idiots people choose to behave like idiots to prove they are not idiots. It's magic
