Blame the Torys for crippling the services, and selling off the council houses, not the people using them.

Labour increased unemployment by 500,000 from two million before the 1997 general election to 2.5 million by 2010.
Almost one million 16-to-24-year-olds in England were classed as not in education, employment or training by the time the party left office.
Of the increase in employment levels under Labour, 72 per cent was accounted for by foreign workers. Migrant workers were imported while Britons were allowed to languish on welfare.

Ministers disastrously predicted only 13,000 arrivals from Eastern Europe when they threw open the UK’s borders in 2004. More than one million came.
A policy of mass immigration saw the foreign-born population rise by 3.6 million — equivalent to the combined population of Leeds, Birmingham, Glasgow, Sheffield and Bradford.

Just saying..

You implied a link between the removal of Foreign nationals with foreign investment where non actually exists.

Did i fuck. I said if he/she (urmston) didn't want foreigners, as he put in, making laws that affect the UK because they were, foreign, then are we to remove all foreign investment in the UK becaues it's, er, foreign.

That increase in unemployment under labour during the worst economic crisis in post war history was actually better than most other western countries So it's a stupid comment.

It is the equivalent of criticising the Tories and Churchills war time government for failing on healthcare because the death rate went up and citing the Tories being responsible for homeless children because of evacuees

Government debt was £350 billion in 1997. By 2007, it had risen to £527 billion — proving the Blair/Brown Government spent too much long before the financial crash.
Labour presided over the longest and deepest fall in the size of the British economy since World War II. Between the start of 2008 and mid-2009, GDP shrank by 6 per cent.
At 10.2 per cent of GDP, public sector net borrowing in 2010 was at its highest level since records began in 1956.
Britain was borrowing around £150 billion a year by Labour’s final year in power — with future generations left to pick up the bill.

:)

Anyone frankly who seriously uses the 2007-2009 figures to try and criticise the economic performance of any government right or left doesn't understand the most basic economic issues in the slightest.
its unicorn and fairy dust politics to try and pretend in those years anything too different could have been done. I accept the 97-07 comments and things were done wrong then in the UK and in countries like Aus where huge surpluses were frittered away in middle class welfare but once Armageddon hit there was little option for governments
