I live in a country which is out of the EU but in the heart of Europe. They pick and choose which EU rules they wish to sign up to and can overturn them with a free vote as soon as enough people decide they want to. Switzerland has no where near the talent, drive, imagination, creativity or natural resources of the UK yet the living standards are very high and crime is very low compared to the uk. People tend to respect themselves and others and take pride in their ability to self govern. They also take it seriously as the semi direct democracy here means people understand they have political power and are happy to use it.

I believe the UK has the opportunity to rebuild itself free from the shackles of the EU into a truly great nation again if it has the courage to choose to do so.

If I could vote it would be OUT.

Well it has to be agreed by all countries and quite literally the people of the other countries are getting a great deal from the uk so why would they agree to change?
I just cant understand how we are getting such a bum deal, its poor negotiation from a weak leader.
If the deals don't work in our best interest then we should leave, not stay because we are scared of the unknown...

Out for me....lets just see what it would be like without us being shackled by Brussels...at the end of the day we aren't exactly pulling up any trees while we've been IN so what's the worst that could happen if we are OUT

In principal the EU was a good idea for the French and Germans, we joined too late to have any significant input into the system, we've always been pissing in the wind. The thing that bothers me most is the loss of power from our parliament, if we stay in i can see a United States of Europe eventually which will be the end of being British, vote out.

I guess you don't remember GB pre joining with 3 day weeks, high inflation, continual strikes and power cuts relatively speaking we have been pulling up trees and it was a lot worse.

I'm an Inner not overfond of Brussels , who is? but the EU has been a long standing area of peace and prosperity that Europe had not enjoyed for a long time. Free to travel and enjoy life something I want of my kids.

PS Any cause that unites Galloway , Farage and some of the more extreme elements of the Conservative party is one that I would be automatically be sceptical of whatever the putative attractions.

In for now, because what really is the difference between pricks you didn't vote for in London or pricks you didn't for for in Brussels telling you how to live. I've yet to be convinced one way or another looks like this will be something to be interested in.

The pricks in London need to get re-elected.

Scotland situation on this could be interesting - all suggestions that there is a larger majority voting to remain in the EU than any other part of the U.K. a backed by the SNP position on this and yet Sturgeon has said a Leave vote would be a definite trigger for another referendum on Scottish independence!

Surely if your pro Scottish independence vote leave on the EU???

The boiling of my kettle for my next brew is reason enough for Sturgeon to demand another referendum

Hilarious watching the SNP and their facebook army making it very clear they dont want to be governed by a government in England they have had some say in electing whilst wanting a government in Brussels in charge they have had no say in.

Hilarious.
