They were doing what their manager instructed. I don't always go with the pundits, but as two of them were Patrick Viera and Roberto Martinez, in this case I'll go along with them rather than with you.
Actually, I wasn't that impressed with either, but that might have been due to the tactics Italy were using.

Can't disagree more. When he was subbed they lost their cutting edge and struggled to make chances beyond long shots.

Cassano did well too. All the italians played well, but it was the Dreadful finishing of Torres which let them off
