Yeah; I thought that. It's a ridiculous rule (the granny rule, or whatever variant of it is in place nowadays), but he didn't invent the rule; he's just taking advantage of it to play international football, something he wouldn't have a cat in hell's chance of accomplishing if he were to wait for the country of his birth to call him.
