My Grandad was Irish so I've always got a soft spot for Ireland. Tbh felt more for them than I would for England if they were in the same position for the reasons you've just given.

To be fair England are the biggest under. achievers in world football. That´s not the fans fault. The FA have failed to deliver the fans a decent team.
