If Welbeck did such a deed which saved a loved one, would your heart sink? No.
Not one of those lads represented their clubs tonight, they played for England.
I really don't understand your point Pige.

Rooney is a **** who hates city, isn't gracious enough in defeat to congratulate us and loves giving it big to us fans. How can you celebrate anything he does?

Do you think he is a **** or some sort of pantomime villain who's a naughty boy saying cheeky words about our club?

Wtf are you prattling on about?
Shreck didn't fucking play tonight.
So he didn't do anything for us to celebrate.
Do try and keep up.

do you think Welbeck would have played tonight or been in the squad if he didn't play for Manchester United?

We were talking about Welbeck...
But you have also brought up Terry and others. How can you cheer Terry who is a racist twat?

I haven't got a fucking clue,and neither do you.
But he did,and he scored a great goal which won the game for England.
Do you have a point here, because for the life of me i'm struggling to find it?

As said in another quote. Pige has said in another post about Terry and others. Rooney is an England international, Pige is saying the England players are representing their country not their clubs.

Fail to see how I have failed to keep up. That is what I am 'prattling' on about

Ha, because the two are comparable!
On here? Sometimes you have to put things in such a way where people see things a little different! ;-)

It was still a fairly ludicrous analogy though!

Some people think slagging them in England shirts makes them even bigger blues. I'm a top blue me when Welbeck scored I just shouted fluke then sulked. I'm such a top blue myself.

I don't think it is as thought out as you make it sound. You can't help how you feel and when welbeck scored my heart sank. Just the way it is. Also every time they showed rooney clapping and smiling, it knocked me sick. It isn't a conscious effort, it's just instinctive.

So for you personally then, it has always been like this? Or more prominently now that we're competing with the rags and there's a lot more vitriol involved? Say for example, when Beckham the united golden boy scored that free kick against Greece in the last min?

I'm as emotional as City fans come when we are playing, but I couldn't help celebrate a goal scored by a kid who iv played football with from south manchester scoring a winner for England. Cliched, but It's what dreams are made of really. He's also not a despicable twat like Young/Evra etc

It has definitely got worse this season. I have always hated united, obviously, but now we are properly competing with them it has definitely got worse. Also, I have found as I have got older that I give a lot less of a shit about England regardless. So I suppose it isn't a great surprise that my hatred of them overwhelms any like of England.

As for people questioning Welbecks place in the squad after playing more times than Hernandez and Berbatov in a title challenging team and showing signs of linkup between his strike partner and England's only top class forward are absolutely ridiculous. If Milner, Carroll, Henderson and Downing are there then he's an absolute shoe in. There isnt a united agenda, or else wouldn't Ferdinand and Carrick be playing?

I do, because Holt and Crouch had better seasons and were left at home.

He scored a fluke, yet people act like it's world class and we should be celebrating him and slag people off for disagreeing with them.

but for those who want to celebrate the current ethos and setup of England, their whole identity and mentality then you might as well celebrate tonight as it's as good as its going to get, unless they pull a fluke a la Chelsea, to be forgotten as quickly as Greece.

Some of us would just like an England team picked purely on merit, wherever that takes us.
