euro attendance

I know that for some, attendances don't matter but...

I just can't get my head round the apathy surrounding Champs League and domestic cup games.

Can't the many that don't get to go to league games buy these cup tickets?

Surely we should be able to shift 40k+ tickets for all cup games!
the FA cup gets a reasonable turn out and no doubt the CL will be close to if not a sell out, but the likes of the LC and the EL are second fiddle and not many bother to turn out for them

I have just checked and when we played Juve at the same stage in same competition, first group game, we got 35,000.

And don't forget, Juve brought about a 1000 fans, if that.

Lazio brought 3000 last night.

How? Semi v Reading and top tiers closed with semi v Rags up for grabs!

Should be selling out home ends no danger.

Forget ground expansion till that happens.

Imagine, 30k in a 60, 65, 70k stadium....

Inter and Milan average around 50000 in a 80000 seater stadium and Milan got 27000 the other night vs Anderlecht, Barcelona don't fill every game at the Nou Camp and often have 30000 empty seats at league games, we NEED an expanded capacity because EVERY league game is a sell out and as far as i know the home tickets have sold out for every game since Fulham about 18 months ago which i believe was partially due to Fulham returning the top tier tickets at quite a late stage.

One of the top tiers versus Reading in the Cup was full and the crowd was nearly 42000, Reading took half the allocation they could have done much to the supporters anger and if they had taken the full allocation and sold them we would have been looking at a virtual full house.

It would be exactly the same as 30k in a 47k stadium if the upstairs was shut. Absolutely no difference whatsoever.

People should grow up about this. We never used to fill Maine Rd when it held 80 odd thousand, apart from when we did & then there were 80 odd thousand there & it still gets mentioned today.

That's the idea: you can get more people in when the demand is high enough.

People should stop worrying about rag wankers talking about empty seats & concentrate on our own club. You don't keep the capacity down because you're worried about empty seats in a League Cup game ffs.

Barca have 20,000 empty seats per game on average & it was a lot more before Rijkaard started winning stuff.

Both of them games still got a reasonable turn out though, and we only knew we were playing united 20 mins before the kickoff of the Reading game

but i thought people couldnt make mid week euro games due to other commitments , work , to many games ? or were they only a excuse to hide behind for europa games and no longer count ?

I think you're probably right. The Champions League is the big one with the Europa League very much in 2nd place. Fans turn out for the big games whenever they are played.
would have been nice if people were honest at the time and admitted at the time they wasnt interested in the europa

At least we have the loyalty points for it mate

Expansion is an absolute must and anyone who can't see that is crackers in my opinion.

Price has to be the main factor. When prices were cut v Hamburg a sell out.People become selective at the current prices
