top tiers weren't closed for the reading game

the attendance was 41150

Don't you all remember the 100 loyalty points for that 1 single match too ?

I think people need to realise that some games take priority over others. I, for one, have to take days holiday to get to night games, so there are some games that I have to miss out on with the number of midweek games we play nowadays (prem, CL, fa cup, league cup, EL). Premier league, champions league & fa cup games will always take precedence over the league cup & europa league. It's not that I don't want to be there, it's that I can't.

thats the point, enough people moan so we should have enough people to take your place, if united and arsenal get 60k for league cup games it wont be because s't holders have all gone its cause the hangers on go cause they cant go in league , this is where all these people on facebook twitter etc and give it big one when we win should show there face

but i thought people couldnt make mid week euro games due to other commitments , work , to many games ? or were they only a excuse to hide behind for europa games and no longer count ?

I think you're probably right. The Champions League is the big one with the Europa League very much in 2nd place. Fans turn out for the big games whenever they are played.
would have been nice if people were honest at the time and admitted at the time they wasnt interested in the europa

Right Uwe, Firstly who appointed you attendance police?
Secondly, I live 100 miles away so any midweek games means taking half a days holiday. My holidays are limited so despite beingt in all the Cup Schemes I will be missing Villa at home because I need my holidays for Ajax and Dortmund away and the home Euro ties. Is that OK with you?
I'm sorry if this doesnt fit in to your "proper fan" bracket but thats just tough shit!

I hope I've pleased you with my honesty.

Get on with supporting the club the way you see fit and leave everyone else to do the same.

I heard a Spurs fan on talkSPORT last night and he said they get three free games on their season card, the Lazio game was one of them.

the FA cup gets a reasonable turn out and no doubt the CL will be close to if not a sell out, but the likes of the LC and the EL are second fiddle and not many bother to turn out for them

How? Semi v Reading and top tiers closed with semi v Rags up for grabs!

Should be selling out home ends no danger.

Forget ground expansion till that happens.

Imagine, 30k in a 60, 65, 70k stadium....

top tiers weren't closed for the reading game
East stand top tier was open but Colin Bell stand one was closed.

Dortmund is looking promising for a sell out, still almost two weeks away remember. It's just the Family Stand being a pain in the arse again as it always seems to be for mid-week cup games. Large availability in every block there while almost everywhere else is sold out. One thing though, I noticed only the central third tier blocks have shown availability which makes me wonder if blocks like 303, 307, 328, and 324 have actually opened for non-ST holders yet? Has anyone tried getting a seat in these blocks?

Spurs are a well supported club and make no mistake if they move to the Olympic Stadium they will be a major threat.
As for our midweek cup attendances the average will increase over a period of time quite simply because we are a far more attractive proposition for new fans than we used to be.
A similar thing happened when City won the league in 68, but enjoyed a higher average attendance in 77, 78 and 79.
Also, the Cup Shemes offer a few discounts for subscribers.(Dortmund £30 rather than £35 for my seat). More people have joined these schemes now that we have actually won the FA Cup and fans can appreciate the obvious benefits.
The Europa League should be a major competition, but for some reason the English treat it with utter contempt. Aston Villa had a poor season last year, but they greeted us with "Thursday Night: Channel 4" when we played at Villa Park.

Inter and Milan average around 50000 in a 80000 seater stadium and Milan got 27000 the other night vs Anderlecht, Barcelona don't fill every game at the Nou Camp and often have 30000 empty seats at league games, we NEED an expanded capacity because EVERY league game is a sell out and as far as i know the home tickets have sold out for every game since Fulham about 18 months ago which i believe was partially due to Fulham returning the top tier tickets at quite a late stage.
Spot on.

Empty seats don't matter. Well they matter to Newcastle fans who seem to sing about them to other clubs and United fans who mock other clubs about them. But in the real world where Real Madrid, the biggest club in the world, average about twenty thousand less than their capacity over the season, it isn't a big deal.

However, any time we sell out all our tickets that will undoubtedly mean we could have sold more. Therefore we are missing out on revenue from further tickets and further matchday money they would have spent. So we do need to expand our stadium. We could get 54-57000 to our Premier League games I reckon so let's to for it.

Don't worry about how many seats aren't sold for other games. Never point to the empty seats, never look to where we don't sell out...just concentrate on how many are actually in attendance because that's all that matters.

We're now comparing ourselves with the biggest and best in the world, rather than clubs like Fulham and West Brom, and compared to most we have a relatively small fanbase. So us getting 47000 for Prem games, 44000 for CL games and 25-3000 for domestic cup games is good.

I have just checked and when we played Juve at the same stage in same competition, first group game, we got 35,000.
so 11000 less than capacity ? how many left for dortmund ?

You lot are obsessed with our attendances so I'm sure you'll know....

Less the better for me, means I'll get home quicker, fuck it I think stay till the end for a change.
