Nah, just the way it's turned out. There's no way you could fix 5 matches in a draw which people are watching live.
The ties in the EL are good for its viewing figures, United / Ajax and us v Porto. Quite looking forward to it now.

Wonder what the odds of things "turning out" that way were.
Well explain how they could fix just one match on a live draw, let alone 5...
Besides, what would they have to gain? It's all about tele figures, so surely by the biggest clubs knocking themselves out, that would dwindle viewing figures in the next round?

What's bent about it though?

Just coincidence that the 5 English clubs got the toughest opponents possible.

Surely Arsenal getting Barca and Chelsea getting Real Madrid would be the worst possible draw. Porto will be difficult especially away but the match is played over 2 legs so we should be able to get a result. Ajax also aren't the team they used to be and United will probably turn them over easily.

I really dont understand this idea of play a weak team and go out, so we can concentrate on the league etc. Even if we win the league by going out now and not having a good run in Europe we would be shafting ourself and probably end up in another group of death for next years champs league.

We will still be in the group of death if we won the Europa, the only way of getting seed 1 or 2 in the CL is if you either win the competition or be a runner up, semi or quarters on multiple occasions.

Wrong

well thats what i gather from european coeficiant rules.. how does it work then?

Those draws weren't possible as all were group winners.
