European elections results

So if its only one option is a valid indicator for each side that puts clear brexit support at sub 35%. Not a great victory is it.
Lol, well it certainly nails the fact that the nearest rival, and only other party solely against, is at less than 22%.
Sooner or later, you're going to have to face the fact that many remain supporters are not as staunch as you think.

I'm fast approaching the "not give a shit" status, but I won't tolerate Parliament "deciding" for us not to go through with it. In my view, if there are to be any more referendums put to the public, it should be 2nd ref; to decide what kind of leave the public will tolerate. 3rd referendum put that decision up against remaining in the EU.
So you won't tolerate Parliament deciding. What are you going to do when they do decide? Write a stiffly worded letter to your MP? Maybe sign a petition? Perhaps have a demonstration. That'll show 'em.

It's so silly and disrespectful to the nature of the people living in the UK that we'd even supprot such an eventuality were it to arise, that it reminds me of the "threat to peace in Europe" style rhetoric we heard back during the referendum where Cameron got called out for it. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-eu-referendum-36243296

In the EU era, we've seen conflict and genocide in the Balkans, conflict between Ukraine and Russia. The EU has only prevented conflict between EU members (all of whom are members of NATO) not in "Europe" the continent itself. I prefer to ask this question; who prevented war between Europe and the Soviet Union, then you soon see who the biggest peacekeepers in Europe have been. Losing them as a friend? THAT is disastrous.
I hesitate to correct MB, especially when he's italicised his mistake, and he'll claim that "members" didn't mean "members", but Austria, Finland, Ireland, Malta, and Sweden are EU countries not in NATO.

Ashcroft is a poundshop Putin - interferes in politics here, in Belize and Australia by flexing his financial muscle - awful rich man who when he isn't getting his own way plots and spins against the Tories - I am not surprised his poll backs up the things he thinks and says - given the money we could all do the same to put pressure on whomsoever we support

His track record on election polling autopsies is pretty damn good whatever you think about him.

The same can be said for a clear remain advocacy, doesn't it.

The main thing anyone can take away from these elections is that brexit is being determined by the extreme minority opinion. The majority, the actual majority, of people in this nation cannot be arsed either way. We stay in, we don't, we get a deal, we don't. They don't consider brexit to be the most important matter as only around 6-7m on either side of the debate, actually bothered to come out in support of their stance. That leaves a whopping 32m-ish voters who simply couldn't be arsed either way, so whatever happens, whether we stay in or whether we leave, it will have been determined by one third of the populous.

Brexit is not the most popular opinion. Remaining is not the most popular opinion. THE most popular opinion is apathy.

Cant argue with that.

We won’t be starting a war if we leave - we’ll be too poor to!
I know 1971 368000 in armed forces 5.95% GDP spent on defence last figures 2011 186000 in armed forces under 3% gdp spent on defence 40 years in the EU has certainly left us poorer.

so the EU forced us to reduce the size of our armed forces and spend less.................or maybe it was a decision taken in the UK by successive UK govts to reduce the size of and spend on the armed forces? Just think of all that money saved to enable juicy tax cuts

That statement is literally false.

EU membership on average benefits us to +4% GDP.

The reason we’re spending less on defence is because of austerity and trying to cut the deficit.

You know that but then again like a lot of Leavers just blame the EU for something they don’t have any impact on.
