European elections results

I very much doubt that these results would be replicated at a GE but I do think they will make the major parties take a definitive stance on Brexit. The Tories will have to go 100% on Brexit, Liberals will stay as remain and Labour will most likely throw their lot behind a 2nd referendum.

Still Amazed that we have millions of gammons swayed by single politics. What benefits to their personal lives do they see with Brexit?

Ask them to name a law ‘imposed’ on Britain and they still couldn’t give you an answer

Pure mixed anti immigration and establishment anger that they can’t really explain rationally has led to this. Hey ho. Let them enjoy this moment.

Pray, tell us in your infinite wisdom what was the correct way for plebs to vote?

And in the meantime I’ll enjoy your salty tears in my soup.

That's exactly my reading of things

Looking pessimistically to the future and expecting the EU sycophants at Westminster to find some way to prevent the UK from Leaving - the changing makeup of the EU parliament offers some hope that the 'full-on' federalist aspirations of the likes of Macron might be stymied or at least slowed down

Let's hope that these results also have an impact on the attitudes of the EU leaders and motivates them to not offer a further extension as they prefer to be shot of the UK MEPs.

Away from the Brexit stuff, it's quite nice to have a party like the Green's up there, who genuinely give a shit about our environment and aren't climate change deniers like a certain party across the pond.

I can see the Greens gaining real ground as the climate change movement gathers, and if Labour turn on their own Brexit majorities and if the Tories continue to reject compromise.

The real story is the shift to the right and left across Europe away from the centre. It’s not just the U.K. divided over Europe.

You would hope now would be the time to listen and reform the Eu to what it should be , a continent who encourage trade between nations and not a political federal legal and political body.

But somehow I doubt politicians do listen anymore. They do what suits them.

Indeed, which is why i'm not getting giddy about tonights results and why it's laughable others are doing a RAWK about the remain groups.

All i've seen tonight is that the two main parties have been decimated, leave voters are still equally as strong in voice as the remainers, but mostly the story of the night is that the public are apathetic about the whole thing, and we want a compromise that satisfies both sides of the debate.

And what would that deal look like ?

What compromise would the 'leave' politicians accept ?

They won't accept May's deal, which involves leaving everything & making everything negotiable.

So what will they accept ?
