Been to approximately 20 European non City games...

Stadiums I'd recommend are Stadium of Light (Benfica), San Siro (Inter/AC Milan) and Westfalenstadion (Dortmund) as 'obvious' choices and La Rosaleda (Malaga) was decent as well.

I was at the Stadium of Light for a European 2004 game. It is wonderful, if miles out of town.

Yep probably my favorite modern ground I have visited either in Britain or Europe

Olympic Stadium Rome - Lazio v Juventus
San Siro Milan - AC v Chievo
Nou Camp - Barcelona v Real Madrid
Stuttgart - England v Ecuador
Kaiserslautern - Australia v Italy
Gelsenkirchen - England v Portugal

Went to the Olympic Stadium in Rome 2 years ago to see a pre-season game between Lazio v Gatafe - stadium half empty but great atmosphere - When in Rome definitely worth a visit.

In 2007 went to Camp Nou twice within a week to see Argentina v Algeria - only the lower tier of the stadium was open although the Argentinians made a hell of a noise from start to finish and then saw Barca v Espanyol where Messi scored the Hand of God copy goal - up in the gods but still a great atmosphere. Barcelona is a great city to visit and has everything including a beach!

Favourite though was a visit to the Old San Memes stadium in Bilbao against Racing Club about 10 years ago - loved the city, compact, great bars and food with the stadium near to the centre. They have a new ground now although I've heard it's just as good as the atmosphere in the old stadium - I need to go back for another visit to test this!

Hope this helps.

Bloody autocorrect. Should have said Euro 2004 of course.

Olympic Stadium, Rome
Stadium of Light, Lisbon
Lansdowne Road, Dublin
Hampden Park, Glasgow
Balgarska Army Stadium, Sofia
Stade Félix-Bollaert, Lens
Stade Communal, Charleroi
Commerzbank-Arena, Frankfurt
Wankdorfstadion, Bern
Amsterdam Arena, Amsterdam
GelreDome, Arnhem
Olympic Stadium, Barcelona
Estadio Heliodoro Rodriguez Lopez, Tenerife
Millenium Stadium, Cardiff

Saw Athletico Madrid in 2000 in game after they were relegated (which I hadn't realised).

Aggressive atmosphere toward the Board and chairs thrown on the pitch were "highlights" - Hasselbaink was playing for them and looked totally disinterested.

PSG
Fiorentina
Real Madrid
Barca
Pisa
Lazio
Levante
Rapid Vienna

If it includes England games......fuck knows.

Strasbourg v Metz, circa 1992.............flares going off left right and centre

Was supposed to go to Lazio v Napoli last year when we were in Rome last year, however changed our minds once we'd seen Southampton maul us (GazBaz horror show)...........decided to get drunk instead to try and block it out
