Tenerife about a dozen times. Seen them against Real Madrid and their fans made as much noise when they were playing in the 3rd division. Always a decent atmosphere.
Bayern Munich II V Saarbrucken after the Salzburg game a few years ago, A shite 0-0 but you could have a beer on the terraces and the Bayern fans chanted non stop.
Fortuna Dusseldorf V Benfica. Luisao assaulted the referee, got sent off, then the rest of the Benfica team walked off in protest. During the delay a heavy metal band came on for half an hour. The club then organised a game split with the Dusseldorf first team and reserves. Was in the ground for over 3 hours, drinking strong German beer on a scorching hot day. We were all steaming by the time we left the ground.
Chievo V Bologna. Day after my mates wedding in Verona. It was Bepe Signori's last ever competitive game. Not sure how we all got there as we'd been caning the jars day of the wedding until the early hours. I managed to grab hold of one of those big flags in the ultras end and give it a wave. Don't think the locals were too impressed with some pissed up Brit dicking about. Since found out that waving the flag as the teams come out is some sort of honour. Looking back, I was lucky not to get a good hiding.
